We've been here several times. Food is good and very filling. Location and view is great. Great playground for the little ones. However, I only give it 3 stars because I think it's very shameful when you mention every time you visit that the toys in the indoor playground are broken and when you come back nothing has been changed or replaced. The staff says we passed it on but management doesn't seem to care. It has already been criticized several times by other guests. Exactly the rooms, yes, they are shabby, old-fashioned, which isn't a bad thing, but you could also do small repairs here that don't cost the earth. In the same way, I think that if you come to breakfast first thing at 7 and there are still crumbs from dinner in the play area, it shows me that there is a need for improvements here. For the price, half board €200 per night for 2 people with a small child, I have had much better hotels with a pool and sauna. E.g. in Bad Sachsa. Which I will definitely visit again instead of coming here. However, the staff goes out of their way to fulfill the guests' every wish.

At the breakfast and dinner buffet you should be among the first to enter the room, otherwise the tables are usually still dirty and not cleared by the previous person. The dining room is also very crowded and full. Drinks usually come after the meal. The food on offer is ok, but only the surrounding restaurants managed to make the holiday taste like a holiday in culinary terms.You have to pay for any offers such as billiards, etc., unless, as often happens to us, everything is occupied or there are no employees on site to lend it out, reception doesn't really help you either."Sorry, I don't know where the active staff is" (very service-oriented really)If you do get something, your playmates are already very rocked.We found the changing rooms for the indoor pool musty, but the pool itself is fine. P.S. Bathrobe only for rental fee.Parking fees for the underground car park are overpriced, you can also park your car downstairs in a free parking lot, but then you have to walk up the hill every time.Oh and just drinking a cocktail late in the afternoon isn't possible! only from 8 p.m.And don't forget no flip flops, slippers or muscle shirts at the buffet.So much for personal rights.Conclusion: A pension would have been the better alternative for us.I simply know a vacation for so much money for 5 days in a 3.5 star hotel differently and much better.No offense but definitely not.

The hotel thrives on its brilliant location.70s charm, which I personally like very much (it's a matter of taste).The rooms themselves are very nice. However...if cleaning is going to happen, then please do it properly, or not at all.Wastebaskets were not emptied, the bottle of water that was given as a welcome was left empty in the room for 3 days.In the bathroom only the hand/bath towels were put back properly, it wasn't really cleaned.As I said, either completely or not at all... the beds were simply thrown back.Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired. At breakfast I politely asked whether it would be possible to remove the dishes/cutlery from our predecessors from our table and re-set them for us.All I was given was napkins and cutlery...unbelievable.We then put the used dishes on the neighboring table, which also had used dishes on it.The breakfast was OK, nothing special.It's a shame that the hotel loses its attractiveness due to the poor service.We definitely don't recommend it!

I've never experienced anything so terrible for 150 euros a night.The room is only cleaned every 2 days (that's still OK).But look at the pictures of the freshly made bed!!!!!!!!The bathroom picture is from the check in day (they can't clean).The glasses were also not washed on cleaning day.For what do I pay 150 euros per night including breakfast?

Very friendly staff, very rich buffet for breakfast and dinner. We found a very clean and nice hotel and rooms. As a family hotel, the hotel lives up to its name. The offerings in and around the hotel for children are really great. In addition, there is the super central location to the Wurmberg or Brocken. We spent a very nice holiday here with our two children (9 years and 11 years) during the autumn holidays.

We really like the actual room, even though everything is getting old. The view of Braunlage is fantastic. The bathroom is beautiful, very special, no mixer tap! Before you have the water for showering so that you find it pleasant, 5 - 10 minutes have passed. The balcony is great, the furniture on it is underground, it couldn't be cheaper, it's a shame.Service - 5 minutes before 3 p.m. our room and many others were not ready, arrival on a Monday! That was a difficult start. My husband had one on October 22nd. Birthday. Even if I didn't explicitly mention this at reception, I would have been happy about a little attention and a card in the room, but nothing is very inattentive.Location - the hotel is outside the "center" and on the lower part of the Wurmberg. A short digestive walk in the evening is difficult. Everything around the hotel is dark, you have to drive again or walk down the mountain and then back up.The food is good to very good for a 3 star hotel. Definitely very good in the evening. We missed good orange juice for breakfast. The one that was there was very thin and didn't taste good. There were delicious oranges lying around as decoration. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly.

We were only there one night.The hotel really has a lot to offer for families with children.If you're looking for peace and relaxation, you won't find it here.For example, even after 8 p.m. it wasn't possible to swim a few lengths in the indoor pool because there were still so many children playing around in the pool.We really like children and have a lot of patience and understanding, but at least in the evening, parents should make sure that they only play at an appropriate volume and with some consideration for other guests.Maybe you could also set up a few child-free hours in the evening. We know that from other hotels and it's a good compromise...The food was ok, but you shouldn't expect anything high quality.For the price, you can eat much better outside.The rooms are spacious but also shabby and the cleanliness could be better.The beds are new and comfortable.The balcony was spacious but unkempt.The staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel is really good.Ultimately, the price-performance ratio in this hotel is absolutely not right for us.

The hotel is rustically furnished, which suits the location well in my opinion. For three stars, the equipment is also perfectly fine.The location is very good. The cable car to Wurmberg is in the immediate vicinity and many other attractions can be reached by car within 30 minutes.The breakfast buffet was rich with a large selection. The waffle station is a great idea!The evening buffet was OK. There was both hot and cold cuisine. The selection of dishes was posted in the hotel first thing in the morning.The children's buffet could have been a big plus. I thought the idea was great for the little hotel guests. BUT: There were far too many sweets there in the evening! More than half of the plates were filled with sweets, and on some days the vegetables listed on the plan were completely missing. The idea is great, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in the implementation!The swimming pool was a great size and there were also a few swimming aids. We found 30° water temperature to be very cool, the 4 year old lasted a maximum of 15 minutes. The tumble dryer in the changing area was great for wet bathing suits.The outdoor playground really impressed us and especially our 4 year old! The cinema is a nice idea for slightly older children or for rainy days. The playrooms are also completely fine.A big point of criticism from personal experience is the radiators in the room. Our child fell out of bed onto the radiator at night and had to be taped in the clinic. Despite the curtain in front of the heating. There is definitely something more that could be done in terms of safety.Unfortunately, the room service failed a bit here. It is cleaned every 2 days but checked for towels and trash every day. This didn't happen at all on one day, even though we specifically requested service because the beds got a lot of blood from the fall. Only after asking three times at the reception did someone come (but also a really very warm lady!)Overall, we had a very good time at the Ahorn Hotel and would book again!

Hotel is very old, the rooms are not really contemporary, but okay.The service was great, you could find friendliness in some of the employees, but there were other very nice employees.The breakfast was really good, great selection and a nice children's buffet.If you're looking for a hotel for children, this is definitely the right place for you. The games rooms are great and the offerings for the little ones are consistently great.The location is good for excursions, located directly in Wurmberg.Despite everything, I wouldn't pay that price again.

“The best you could do with the circumstances.” A house that dates back to the 60s/70s and scores with a lot of commitment from the employees, a great offer for families and an incorruptible location.Sure, you can't look into the corners or have high expectations, but especially given the lack of alternatives in the resin, the maple offers a good basis for a good time. Extras such as a diaper pail, cot and time were brought to the room very friendly and quickly.From the swimming pool, children's cinema, daily program for children, playground, mini golf and playground, you can find good alternatives even in bad weather.Now to the negative: Parking is disproportionately expensive at €12. Food quality is below average. The rooms and furnishings are clearly showing their age (all the floor lamps are literally hanging by a thread and fall apart when switched on). Unfortunately, age is also noticeable in smoking habits. Despite the smoking ban, there are ashtrays hanging on every balcony (which are also used diligently) and the no-smoking zones directly in front of the entrance are deliberately ignored.
