We had booked a family holiday here and were traveling in a group of 8 people. It was clear to us from the start that we had booked a cheap hotel and couldn't expect much, but we were bitterly disappointed. The hotel was a bit old and so was the furniture, but it was also defective and moldy - which shouldn't be the case! There were also huge differences in the rooms, even though we all paid the same price. The parents' room was almost twice as big as the others.Unfortunately, the innkeeper/landlord wasn't always up to date either. On the one hand, the guest and staff were treated inappropriately and, on the other hand, the food was unfortunately not very satisfactory. We had booked half board. A menu was simply presented every evening and without being informed in advance what was available. In addition, unfortunately no consideration was given to allergens, intolerances or special diets.Unfortunately, the portions were also very small, so the entire family was still hungry after dinner.Unfortunately, the breakfast was nothing special with homemade jams from Gut & Günstig, baked rolls that had become dark and canned fruit. The review is not intended to sound like complaining at a high level, but unfortunately corresponds to the actual circumstances. Even if you pay little, you should still have a certain standard when running a hotel.Another note for all future guests: The bill for the drinks should be checked, as an error can often creep in ;)And another point on the topic that is out of date: card payment is not possible.

Unfortunately disappointing - outdated hotel with many defectsUnfortunately, our stay at the Höhen Hotel Pfeifle in Baiersbronn was anything but satisfactory. There were eight of us in four rooms, and although we all paid the same price per room, the differences in furnishings and quality were significant. Our room, a dog room, was in poor condition: mold on the walls, peeling wallpaper and a very dirty carpet. Although we were assured that the dog rooms were regularly dry cleaned, this was hard to believe. In comparison, our parents' room was significantly larger, with a separate living room, a large TV and even a refrigerator - for the same price. Such differences are simply unacceptable! The hotel is getting old, which doesn't really bother us as long as the rooms are well maintained. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The condition of the room left a lot to be desired. It seems as if the innkeeper has stuck in an earlier time and is unable to meet today's demands.Another big problem was the landlord's behavior towards the employees. A waiter was publicly reprimanded in the dining room in front of the guests, which was very unpleasant for us and completely unprofessional. Such things should not happen in front of guests. The treatment of the guests was also disappointing. Drinks were not included with dinner (half board), which is why we asked for a detailed bill every evening. This was only dismissed with snippy comments that nothing like this had ever happened before and that everything would be settled at the end of the holiday. Such behavior is unacceptable. The customer should be the focus, as the saying goes: customer is king. The food offering was also particularly problematic. A fixed menu was served without taking allergies, intolerances or alternative diets (vegetarian, vegan) into account. No longer relevant these days.I don't get the impression that the landlord has bad intentions, but there is an urgent need to move with the times and adapt to modern standards instead of sticking to outdated ways. Conclusion: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the hotel because both the condition of the rooms and the service did not meet expectations.

Quiet, family-run hotel. Yes, it's a bit old, but it's clean. We were here from Monday to Monday, we had half board. The breakfast left nothing to be desired and there was something for everyone. Dinner was great, with starter, soup,2 main courses to choose from and a dessert. A different menu every evening. From here, a greeting to the kitchen.Mr. Pfeifle and his junior (17!) are very friendly when dealing with the guests and often have a casual saying on their lips.Thank you

We went on a motorcycle tour in the Black Forest with 5 friends and stayed at the Höhenhotel Pfeifle. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was well attended and the guests were very nice. We went to the sauna every evening and it was good too.None of us have had negative experiences.

A somewhat outdated hotel. Very quiet location with a very nice view. The rooms and hotel are clean, which is very important to me. The food is simply great, many star hotels can take a page from it. The staff and the owner are very friendly and always have a casual saying ready when appropriate. In short: it was a successful stay. I have to mention again, the food, if I say very good, that's an understatement.

The hotel is a complete disaster. The facility is 100 years old and creepy. The rooms are dirty (and that's an understatement). All the rooms have carpeting and I didn't want to know what lived in there. Nobody likes to shower here because they want to get clean, as can be seen from the pictures. Sleep? There are metal springs that come out and if you want to change them, there is a children's mattress that is surrounded by wool blankets. Relaxation despite everything in the spa area? Old laundry is stored in this, but we didn't find any water or a sauna. Delicious food? At breakfast there is no fruit or fruit, instead there are baked rolls. At dinner you sit at a table with a dirty tablecloth that hasn't been changed in a week, despite there being children at the table. The dinner was very tasty, but unfortunately I couldn't really enjoy it because of the stress with the boss. On top of everything there are always sayings from him personally, which can also become loud if something doesn't suit him. Recreation? Not at all! This is simply not possible in this hotel, but rather the joy of going home so that you can sleep without back pain, take a shower and get clean and eat with pleasure without having to worry about getting shit from the boss! You can totally save yourself a vacation like this!!!
