We only stayed in the beer garden, so I can't say anything about the rooms. Food was very tasty. Staff very friendly. Small playground. The castle nearby is worth seeing.

We celebrated a big birthday in the hiking home. From the location to the hospitality, everything was good. The food was very good and the boss was an absolute professional in her field. Really great

Very nice terrace in the countryside, but the price-performance ratio for a hikers' home is not ok: 🍺 for 4.90 and 2.00 for robber plates leaves an uneasy feeling.Unfortunately, we also had bad luck with the wild garlic dumplings for €18: they were pancake dumplings with no wild garlic flavor...the mushroom sauce was good.It's a shame: 30€ for 2 beers and 3 "panni dumplings"...

We stopped here on our first stage of the Westweg. From the room to dinner to breakfast, everything was perfect. The menu was varied (including a varied vegetarian offering) and “extra requests” were also catered for without any problems. Thank you for this relaxing stay! :)

Wanderheim was always good, but "closes at 8:30 p.m." doesn't work at all.This is the reason why visits are canceled more and more often.

Very nice location, delicious food, BUT €4.90 for a wheat beer in the hiking home is unfortunately a bit unreasonable. Therefore only 3 stars.

The hiking home on the Schlossberg is always a welcome address when hiking as a couple and in all seasons. The large selection and quality of the dishes, the friendly service and the ambience always impressed us.So it made sense to plan a break with a 30-person marathon hiking group at the hiking home. Not only the preparation of the retreat with Ms. Strohecker on site, but also the logistics on the hiking day were absolutely professional.When we arrived in the evening, the tables were attractively set up and the pleasant lighting ensured that the group of hikers immediately felt at home. And even though we had plenty of time before the return journey by train, it was good to see that there are experienced people at work here who are not hosting a large group for the first time. Because in the end there were already one or two special requests.Thanks to the excellent regional cuisine (including a selection of desserts on the tray) and the really great service, the evening stop was the final highlight of an all-round successful day of hiking. Many thanks to the Strohecker family and the team at the hiking home. We felt very comfortable, the food and drink were first class.

We happened to pass the hiking home and took a look inside. Friday shortly after lunch. To our surprise, the restaurant was full. The friendly waitress offered to set up a table for us if we came back a little later. Since the restaurant didn't seem anything special at first, we hesitated at first. We didn't regret coming back for a second. Everything was prepared, the food was excellent and since we were able to stay seated with our small group, we were also able to enjoy an excellent cappuccino and an equally good fresh apple pie. We felt very comfortable here. You can feel the warmth of the boss and her team.Thank you very much

We were allowed to spend one night here. The rooms are large and really very nice.But the best thing is that you really feel welcome and the guests are treated in a very nice and friendly manner.The breakfast is lovingly designed and extremely delicious.Thank you very much!!!!

We stayed here by chance for two nights and were extremely pleasantly surprised. Both from the room and from the breakfast and the food, which we can really recommend. Very good starting point for hiking and cycling. Very nice and friendly management
