We chose the youth hostel as the starting point of our hike on the Westweg. We are 2 people and stayed 2 nights in a four-bed room. Now I ask myself, there will be a room with only 2 beds in this big house!?Of course, this meant we were allowed to pay more.Oh well, there were 5 guests in this youth hostel. When we arrived there was a small problem with the computer, which made the employee a little, well, annoyed. So we went into town. When we came back we were able to check in.Unfortunately, the dinner we had booked was forgotten and the employee didn't make any effort to offer us anything.Room and bathroom were okay.Breakfast was more than enough for 5 people. The chef turned out to be a friendly employee. He tried to answer the questions as best he could, or rather went on a search to answer our questions. The price list for the drinks is also not correct.I hoped for more from the youth hostel.I don't understand why a youth hostel only seems to be occupied in the afternoon. As I said, the friendliest employee was the chef.A youth hostel that cannot be recommended.

The food tasted like soap. The carrot salad was so disgusting that I thought to myself what went wrong, you just have to peel the carrots and that was it, the water also just tasted like soap, how is that even possible and it was also so dirty, please go to all the teachers Don't go there with your class.

Rooms have a shower and toilet. Unfortunately, one of the blankets was dirty. There was also a lot of dirt in the hallway. We also ordered vegan food. There was vegan chocolate spread and margarine for breakfast. Very poor. Since you weren't allowed to bring anything with you, we (family reunion) ordered coffee and cake for Saturday. We were promised 3 different sheet cakes. There were apple fritters... And although I asked again beforehand, vegan was not there. They then organized vegan packaged muffins that were left over from someone else. I wouldn't have had anything to bring vegan food for one person! But when you are promised that this will be offered and then you are fed so poorly, that's really bad! The agreed "drinking allowance" for Saturday also looks very poor . Also that you couldn't cool the drinks in this weather. The drinks machine wasn't refilled. And quite expensive for a youth hostel! The youth hostel itself is in a nice location. The outdoor swimming pool is within walking distance. A public playground next door.We won't go there anymore.

The service is very unorganized and unprofessional. I wanted to check in with my class and they didn't let us in because the reception wasn't occupied and the confirmation was lost. Our barbecue evening was also canceled because they didn't give any confirmation and you're not allowed to eat in the rooms or vape

Very nice youth hostel for the whole family. Location is very good, can also be reached by public transport. Very friendly and helpful staff.Unfortunately there is no bistro in the evenings and not in the immediate vicinity, meaning there are few places for parents to stay when the children are sleeping.
