I travel with humble expectations; nevertheless, I know what adequate accommodation looks, smells, and feels like. Ma Maison is a clean, friendly, and affordable place for a single traveler or two. Also, it is a 1minute walk to Bangtao Beach and a 7 minute walk to Bangtao Muay Thai. The proprietor, Michel, was eager to help in so many ways, and I will always have a fond memory of my time there. One potential drawback for prospective guests could be the volume of the music in the evening from the restaurant right next door. It typically stopped around 10 PM I think.

This property unfortunately didn’t meet the expectations from the photos online. The bedsheets had massive holes in - making it uncomfortable to sleep in and felt unhygienic as the actual duvet kept poking through which others have slept with - the bath robes had holes too. The bed had some very awkward shelf’s built in which you bang your head on during the night. The plug on the bedside table was pushed in and broken too. The music at the restaurant goes on for a while and is quite noisy - so maybe ask for a room far away if this isn’t your cup of tea.Other than this we did enjoy our stay as it’s in a great location, a pool outside the bedroom doors and a restaurant right next door (we didn’t try this though).Very glad to only have spent 1 night there though.

Like the curate's egg it's good in parts. The good parts being the pool, the loungers and umbrellas. Also the cheerful staff. It is a boutique hotel which means it is small ( 9 rooms ) and the rooms themselves are also fairly small. The bed was comfortable although the headboard had some daft shelf things to bang your head on. The provided towels sometimes had holes in as did the bed sheets but were perfectly clean. The shower room was a decent size and it all worked pretty well. The rooms are arranged on two sides of the pool with a blank third wall. The fourth side is open to an adjacent restaurant. The trouble with this arrangement is that the restaurant hosts live music and on Saturday night there was very loud music playing at 11pm. Given that the hotel is only a couple of hundred baht a night cheaper the the nearby Best Western I think it is not particularly good value.

Run down hotel. Bathroom a no go. Smells like unkempt sewer drain works poorly. Bedroom works. Right next to bar restaurant with live music. Central location. Price performance is not right.

We booked through booking, when we arrived the rooms did not correspond to the pictures, the rooms were very old and bad sun loungers, they even refused to return the money to us, we had to write to booking, otherwise they did not have the right not to return the money to us, they moved out after 2-3 hours

Unfortunately as soon as we arrived the toilet didn't flush and the air conditioner didn't turn down the fan...resulting in a smelly bathroom and a bad sore throat...I wouldn't go back.

The staff is amazing here always trying to help.. couldn’t be more happy with. Daily room cleaning no extra charge. Pool right out your front door! Open Restaurant just beyond the pool which has live music every night.. which if you order food from the restaurant they will bring it right to your villa. It’s a cool place great price!

The owner, Eric, is on top of things (always helpful and nice) also the staff is very friendly!! The rooms are amazing value for money, 711 is just 20 meters away, and both Bang Tao and Surin Beach are within walking distance. The pool, the restaurant, and the shops around the hotel make it a gem. The rooms have all the basics, making it the best value for money stay in bangtao ever. Thank you all
