Friendly team, great breakfast and nice room. Quiet location but after a short walk you are at the lake.

The Seehotel “Kleiner Storch” on Lake Dümmer is beautifully located within walking distance of the lakeshore. The rooms and the building are lovingly furnished and designed. There is a beautiful breakfast room with a rich breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. All in all, a nice place to stay for a shorter or longer stay.The hotel rooms are modern with free Wi-Fi, smart TV and bathroom in the room. There is access to the hotel with a small chip that opens the front door. Unfortunately there is no safe for valuables in the room and when we arrived we had to call to enter the hotel. The door was opened remotely and the room key was then stuck inside the room door. So unfortunately no personal reception for us, but a nice briefing via telephone and door opening from a distance.Why do I still only give it three stars overall? Two things spoiled the good impression and our stay experience:Our ground floor room with an inside bathroom developed a very unpleasant (fecal) smell in the evening (after returning from a long walk). Even the ventilation couldn't "work away" this smell until morning. After our complaint, we were kindly allowed to use the shower in another free (more expensive) room on the first floor, where the smell was not noticeable. (Later they accidentally wanted to charge for this more expensive room, but then corrected the bill after pointing out the error.)At the breakfast buffet we had a small table by the window with a nice view outside. We took advantage of the late riser breakfast at around 11am. Unfortunately, the coffee cup placed at the table was not completely clean. And I also had bad luck with cutlery and plates several times at the buffet. Sometimes the cutlery wasn't completely clean, sometimes something seemed to be stuck under the edge of the plate. I can't say whether this came from other guests or whether it already happened while washing up or placing the dishes. The smell from the bathroom still in my nose was something that spoiled my breakfast experience.In addition to the good coffee, we would also have liked to use the coffee machine, which was freely accessible behind a counter and used by another guest at the neighboring table. But when we wanted to take a tea bag out of the dispenser there, a woman stood up from the table and harshly reprimanded us that guests were not allowed access here and that this coffee machine and the tea bags there could only be used for a fee. - As we then had to figure out, it was probably the senior manager, who also harshly reprimanded the very young, friendly service staff several times and gave orders. The junior manager and service staff were consistently friendly. The senior manager - at least at this moment towards us as guests - took a lot of getting used to. Since this was the day of our departure, we took these not so nice experiences with us as our last impression on the journey home. Therefore, overall we only give it three stars.

We went for breakfast with a larger group. What a buffet, it leaves nothing to be desired. Beautiful atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll be back!!!

I was greeted unfriendly during my spontaneous visit today. E-mails have not been responded to several times. The staff seems to be overwhelmed, even though the summer holiday season is almost over - it's a shame - it's a shame somehow

Small, fine hotel.Friendly staff.A great breakfast.However, one or two things could still be improved a bit.There is hardly any storage space in the bathroom and in the room.A cosmetic waste bin in the bathroom would be nice.The rooms appear larger on the homepage than they are.

Great hotel! Tastefully and modernly furnished rooms, very friendly and attentive staff and simply phenomenal breakfast! Everything in the beautiful town center of Hüde, a main town on the beautiful Dümmer Lake, just 25 km from Osnabrück. Gladly again!

Extremely friendly and warm service, an incredibly varied breakfast buffet, we'll be back!
