The hotel and restaurant have probably been closed for a while, so I can only rate the snack bar. We stopped here during a hike and were pleasantly surprised. Draft beer from the Erzgebirge, very tasty bratwurst, rock music and a super nice innkeeper.We would go there again at any time and can absolutely recommend it!!!!

In terms of taste, the bratwursts are an insult to my taste buds. There are regional differences, but they just didn't taste good.

My review refers to the outdoor area. The fact that the waiting time was far too long until we got our food and the fries were completely "flabby" is only mentioned in passing. What we found much worse was the board on which it was or was written (it was wiped away, but you could still see what was once written there): "We're not boycotting the Greens, we're just not serving them." You could also see an AfD key ring at the checkout. If we had noticed this before we ordered, we would have left immediately. Unfortunately, this does not make the Thuringian Forest a tourist attraction and confirms the political reputation that the Thuringians have... I myself am also a Thuringian and am deeply ashamed. An absolute disgrace.

We stopped here on our Rennsteig hike and wanted to eat something.I've never experienced waiting 40 minutes for 2x fries + currywurst at a snack bar. As a grain it didn't even taste good. Fries not quite cooked and the currywurst almost cold.Hygiene also seems to be a foreign concept, the waitress takes money, cuts the curry sausages into small pieces and then divides them by hand onto plates. In between, you wipe your hands briefly on your pants and then you continue.The fact that you as a guest have your political views stamped on you via a sign (no Greens are served) + AFD key ring (nicely presented at the checkout) somehow rounds off the overall impression.If I had read the reviews beforehand... there should actually be a minus before the star.

We've been to the snack bar many times, but today on May 1st the lady in the snack bar couldn't be surpassed in terms of unprofessionalism. Eternal queuing and angry guests, not because the bratwurst was still needed, no, it was ready, only the lady was completely overwhelmed. After queuing for about 30 minutes (about 10 guests), a customer wants a bockwurst.... yes, but I have to warm it up for them first... it takes time. Guys, that's not possible!!

After a hike we wanted to have a little snack. Unfortunately everything was closed with reference to a sign where we didn't feel addressed and were still punished. It's a shame for you and many others who think the same way and are punished despite having the same opinion. Otherwise, the bratwurst always tasted good.

The rating refers to the outdoor area and the snack bar as well as the attached sign, see picture (not a fake, taken on June 24th, 2023). There the guests are politically selected, who is served and who is not. Fortunately, since no one needs such a facility, it is not a loss. Incredible...

A disaster of all proportions....expensive...bad rooms...dirty...neglected...food is better for dogs than what Mr. Voglar fraudulently does on all scales....
