We booked half board for 3 nights at this hotel.When we arrived at the hotel, the intercom system at the parking barrier was broken and no one answered the phone. Now we had to walk to reception to get the parking card to open the barrier.The receptionist was very friendly and tried to make things right.The first dinner was more of a mass buffet a la canteen.The noise was loud and not pleasant.Individual groups were served a la carte, which unfortunately we did not receive.After asking at reception and initial complaints, we were promised a welcome drink the following day.The breakfast was again not 4 star standard and there were no egg dishes on request and the correct description on the signs (warm sausages were advertised as grilled. The same applies to the bacon, which was stated as grilled but was at most in the combi steamer.)The suffering didn't end on day 2, we didn't receive the welcome greeting we were promised, even when we asked at reception. The food was again a la canteen buffet and there was a lack of love and context of the dishes on offer.The salad was brown, the dressing was a mouse, salads fresh from the can, ... The shower gels and hygiene bags in the room were not refilled. When we asked the receptionist, the employee didn't know whether it was normal for a 4-star hotel to need to be refilled and he couldn't reach anyone.In summary, you would want to leave on day 2 at the latest, as there is no relaxation and recovery.Update: Day 2 9:20 p.m. the missing shower gel is delivered to the room.

The reception was very friendly. The staff were very helpful and they took the time to answer every question.The rooms are good, great beds, only the tiny radio and the very small TV (font barely readable from the bed) are a bit old scool.You couldn't regulate the temperature in the room and bathroom (ventilation or exhaust air not working) yourself (not below 18 degrees). We had to open the windows to sleep. Since the hotel is centrally located, car traffic was always present, unfortunately. The upholstery of the seating (armchairs or sofas) is pretty worn out.The service staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the HP offer was in no way worth its price. If you can make money with little (even very little) products, then this house has done it.Visually the food was always a one, but in terms of quality and taste it was a four or five minus. Unfortunately. The fitness room (storage room for broken equipment?) is anything but presentable. This was criticized 2 years ago, but unfortunately nothing has changed!!! The air quality in this area is also almost unacceptable. A hotel that bears the name GRAND HOTEL should want to do more for its guests. The lack of toilet paper on the ground floor made the visit an adventure (because if you're already sitting, you're sitting).

We stayed at this hotel for one night and everything was great and the swimming pool was also highly recommended! We were very disappointed with the breakfast, which is shameful for a 4 star hotel! The rolls were stale and sticky on Sunday, so they didn't even smell like fresh rolls, then there were no small sweets/pastries/cakes or anything like that...and the scrambled eggs were older and were slightly greenish! This shouldn't be in a hotel category like this...

A few days ago my wife and I stayed in a four star hotel for the third time.We were warmly welcomed and greeted at reception.After a short briefing we were able to move into our room.Visually very appealing, large and clean.The bed, a box spring bed with a topper.I haven't slept so well in a hotel for a long time.We booked half board and I can only recommend it to everyone.Starting with breakfast, where everything was brought up,whatever you could wish for.In the evening you could, after a small appetizer from the kitchen,choose from three other starters.For the main course you could even choose from six to seven dishes, with the note that you could choose the side dishes, for example: like swapping potatoes for pasta or French fries.There were also three different desserts to choose from every day.The staff was always very polite and accommodating,you were even welcomed at every mealand accompanied to the respective table.On the first floor of the Grand Hotel Suhl there is a very large and clean swimming pool and associated saunas, changing rooms and toilets.All in all, we really appreciated and felt comfortable in the Grand Hotel Suhl during the five days of our stay.One more note: the Grand Hotel Suhl is centrally located in the city center, so you can easily reach the city center on foot in about five minutes.The Suhl train station is also only about 500 meters away from the Grand Hotel Suhl, so you can easily travel by train.For older and disabled people, luggage will be brought to the rooms by service after consultation.There is an elevator to each floor.Heart, what more could you want?Kind regardsAnita and Harald Henniger family

We were traveling on motorbikes and needed somewhere to stay from the bad weather.That's when we came across this hotel.After a short consultation with the reception, a place for the motorcycles was found (thank you again).The pool was cool but good for relaxing.Anyone who can should get a massage.The food was tasty and up to standard. Breakfast was good, as you would expect from a hotel like this.

Ok for a short vacation or business trip.The bathroom was definitely too small for our double room. Either one goes to the toilet or to the sink or takes a shower. 2 people in the bathroom at the same time is not possible. This can lead to stressful situations during a vacation lasting several days. Furniture except the bathroom looked like it was from the 90s.We often travel to Germany, Austria and Italy. We still ask ourselves where the 4 stars come from.

That was just expensive. 130 euros in Suhl is a joke. There is no mini bar. The hallways are dark, scary for a 4 star hotel. The machine on the ground floor was not well stockedand card payment not set up. Breakfast on Sunday with old bread rolls. The staff is ok, the offer; One word: no!

The hotel is very nice and the staff is really friendly. The equipment is great for the spa area, there are always extra towels available so that you can really enjoy what the hotel has to offer. The staff really tries to leave no wish unfulfilled and the food in the hotel was also top.New and modern facility.

We took a little short vacation there. Service and people very friendly. Dinner was a 3 course menu, very tasty and plentiful. Breakfast buffet, lots of choice. A clean hotel and a large pool area. Gladly again!

I can only recommend the hotel, the food is incredibly tasty, the staff are super friendly, the room is always clean and comfortable.The pool could be a little warmer, but it's wonderful.Reception tries to fulfill all guests' wishes and always has an open ear.It's not exactly ideal for children, as they could quickly get bored as there is no playground, for example.But ideal for adults.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating.Hotel is barrier-free.Breakfast and dinner very good.As a wheelchair user it is a bit difficult to get to the reception as there is only a barrier-free ramp on the side.Otherwise access can only be achieved via stairs.From the parking lot, which is laid with coarse paving stones and is suitable for wheelchair users, you have to walk around the hotel on the street to reach the ramp.Almost all doors open automatically, except for the one in between, right after the elevator.The barrier-free room is not bad, the bathroom is big enough and wheelchair accessible.The closet is difficult to access and difficult for wheelchair users.Still five stars because the staff makes up for the one star from the room.
