My daughter has already been to the Woltermann Pony Farm twice for a weekend and is already planning to spend more weekends there. She was so excited every time that she wanted to “stay there forever.” She was completely happy there, but the food on offer for vegetarians was inadequate. In this day and age when there are so many meat substitute products, it shouldn't be a problem to cook properly for the children without meat. Last but not least, a good range of food shows appreciation for the guests. Otherwise, this place is heaven on earth for horse girls.

You ride twice a day under the supervision of several supervisors and, in the field, usually even by the farm owner, which makes the whole thing safer. Great attention is paid to animal welfare and the carers are very nice to the children in 99% of cases. For younger children there are activities such as horseshoe painting, pony beauty contests and hobby horse crafts. There are large and small rides, but you can also ride in one of the two halls or on the riding arena. Riding is not compulsory, instead you can take the pony to the playground and let it graze, take pictures or something else. You don't even have to get the pony if you don't want to. If you like the pony, you can pre-order it for another week so you can ride it again. You can also exchange ponies with friends for riding times or parts of them. What I particularly like is that it's not about being able to ride well and doing everything, but rather about safety, support and the right pony. It is clearly stated that not every pony suits every rider and you can always change. The farm also offers vegetarian/vegan alternatives and full board is available. With around 20 well-kept and beautiful rooms, each with 2-10 children, there is also a decent place to sleep. You can go to the pasture, the playground, or other places during the day, so you can move around freely. I've already made a lot of friends there, and even a small group with whom I go back every year. I really like the farm and have been there several times now! Really highly recommended.

Our daughter liked it a lot. There are no “real” riding lessons, but you do have a pony all to yourself. She had a lovely time

I've been to the farm once so far, but I didn't like it at all.First of all, the carers are completely rude and shout at the children for no reason. This behavior just spreads a bad mood and scares the children. What I also didn't like was that you could go to the ponies' pasture almost at any time, but the ponies felt disturbed by children running after the ponies and as a result the ponies sometimes became aggressive and tried to bite or kick the children ( sometimes the ponies attacked the children with their mouths open to bite). This is very dangerous, especially for the little ones among the guests.I don't see why you should do court service, despite these prices.I was there for a weekend, which just wasn't worth it because you first had to ride all the gaits to the place, then do a walk ride, then a walk-trot ride and then a canter ride. The paths in the area are not nice either and the afternoon ride took maybe a little more than an hour and then we had to go to the place. Of course the ponies don't feel like it anymore.

Woltermanns Ponyhof is a beautiful farm. There are around 150 ponies and horses at the riding stables. The ponies/horses are all really lovely. You can go off-road every day. The farm has its own lake where you can go swimming with the ponies/horses in summer. The supervisors are all super nice and in the evenings there are games where everyone has to take part, sometimes you play a ten-man marathon or something else... There is always a lot to experience. For food, there is toast in the morning with various spreads, a warm meal for lunch and a warm meal for dinner bread again. It is a farm that I can only recommend with a good price-performance ratio. 🐴

My daughter has been a regular holiday guest at this farm for several years. The farm is clean and well maintained and the ponies also have plenty of space on the numerous large meadows. The ponies are treated well and the children are observed while riding and riding, which makes the whole thing safer as it is quickly recognized if someone is overwhelmed with their pony. The rooms could be a little larger and the cupboards could also offer a little more space. But my daughter can cope with the space. The food could be optimized a bit. When it comes to vegetarian food, the meat alternative is often simply left out. For gyros, for example, only rice with tzatziki is available. Or at Easter there was pasta with Bolognese, where my daughter could only eat dry pasta because there was no tomato sauce this time. For vegetarians, a simple scrambled egg can be made quickly so that your protein needs are covered even with all the exercise and riding. On the other hand, if there is schnitzel, there is a delicious celery schnitzel (it works!). The evening meal is also a bit pitiful, untoasted white bread and simple gray bread. There could possibly be a small supplement. The breakfast was probably sufficient and appropriate. Since the prices, like on other comparable farms, have increased significantly in recent years, you should perhaps spend a euro more on food per day, especially with special food. Because it is also described on the website that special food is available. But my daughter is prepared for it and we give her plenty of 5 minute terrines. Nevertheless, my daughter is very satisfied and happy and has made many friends there who she meets again and again. The evening program also rounds off the offer, as it never gets boring. My daughter is a guest at least twice a year and looks forward to spending time with the ponies and friends.
