The fact that something like this still exists is an absolute stroke of luck!We have definitely been enjoying coming to the Falken for 30 years. We held many family celebrations there. We always look forward to the food. Starting with the side salad, which is still traditionally mixed, namely with green salad, carrots, bean salad, coleslaw and always an apple wedge on the side 😊 to all the other dishes that are down-to-earth but prepared with flair and love. Everything is simply very tasty. Praise to the kitchen team!Typical Franconian dishes are served with a seasonal orientation. So Schäufele with dumpling and, in my opinion, the world's best sauerbraten with gingerbread sauce. This is probably because there was once a gingerbread factory in Mainbernheim.Then there is asparagus in early summer, chanterelles, duck or goose in autumn.On weekends in autumn and winter there are usually also delicious savoy cabbage vegetables.The menu also offers vegetarian dishes and snacks, there is definitely something for everyone.The restaurant is very cozy and it's lucky that nothing has changed here. The long stovepipe alone is a hit. In the warmer seasons you can sit relaxed in front of the restaurant.The service at the Falken is very attentive and warm. You just feel welcome.Opening times are Thursday to Sunday.

My buddy and I discovered this place by chance on a road trip.We didn't stay overnight, but the food was sensationally delicious. The beer and wine werealso great. The service was also very nice and accommodating.Anytime again ☺️👍😎🍻

We only ate here and I have to say, very good. The Schäufele tasted very good, the spaetzle too, the drinks were also very good and very well chilled on a hot day.

I checked in for 2 days and was very satisfied. Rooms are very clean and functional. The bed was new and super comfortable. Breakfast was more than sufficient, tasty and varied.The service staff at breakfast was attentive and very friendly.I ate dinner once. There is nothing to complain about here either.The portion was very generous and tasty. The service was also very friendly and accommodating.I'd love to come back next year!!

A very nice place with a city wall, the inn is extremely good, I didn't stay overnight, so I can't judge this topic. There is delicious venison knuckle and of course great schnitzel, but the best thing of all was the side dish, the best fried potatoes I have ever eaten, I can honestly only highly recommend this place.👍😋

We were here for dinner several times. Always - including today - the food was great! The sauces in particular are excellent. I once had a sauerbraten with gingerbread sauce here and I haven't forgotten it to this day.

I would also like to express my opinion due to the bad recession which is not true (in my opinion).All awards that are posted (e.g. from Feinschmecker) are current and from the change of operator in 2015, none from before.Our food was very good, fresh, well prepared. The menu is traditional, Franconian with a certain twist.We ordered:1x goat cheese with homemade quince jelly and mango chutney1x shovel2x Cordon Bleu2x bread dumplings with chanterelle cream sauceWe also had the rooms shown to us. Traditional with a modern touch, e.g. new box spring beds, good facilities.Gladly again.

A terrible recession over the hawk has left us no peace.We simply had to know what the evaluation was about.Short report: 2 x Schäufele, 1 x schnitzel, 1 x rack of lamb with a herb crust, triplets and princess beans, 1 x pork loin wrapped in bacon with wild garlic spaetzle.All dishes were of high quality, both in preparation and taste. The service, including the owner, was as always friendly, courteous and competent (1A wine recommendations).The awards that are displayed on and in the inn are all from the time after the change of operator.We can neither understand the negative evaluation nor do we have a certain level of competence in itRecognize and make gastronomic assessments.

Were here for dinner. We had schnitzel and Schäufele. We can't say which food was worse. In our opinion, the Schäufele is only slightly boiled in plain water. No sign of searing or root vegetables. That's why there is also ready-made sauce, because you can't make sauce with plain water. Just disgusting. The schnitzel tasted like Schäufele. How this is achieved is a mystery to us. The owner tries hard, but has no idea about gastronomy. Don't be tempted to go in by the awards attached to the inn. Without exception, they all come from the time of the previous owners. Unfortunately, we noticed it too late. Conclusion: If this is good Franconian cuisine, we don't want to experience bad food. Not recommended under any circumstances..

Typical Franconian inn in a historic building and with rustic furnishings. The menu promises something hearty and you are well advised to try the Schäufele. The wines, like all Franconian wines, are earthy and mineral and harmonize perfectly with the hearty dishes. The service was attentive and friendly, making it an all-round pleasant and satisfying experienceStay. Mainbernheim is also a place worth seeing and worth a long digestive walk.
