I had sent a BOOKING REQUEST by email on the condition that we would also get a seat at the table during the menu; Because it wasn't answered, I repeated it the next day via the homepage - which triggered a booking that could no longer be canceled 18 hours later - four days before the appointment. In my so-called booking I mentioned that we only need the room if we get a place at the menu.The woman is now actually charging €169 for no-show, even though she couldn't offer me a seat at the dinner table, which would have been the prerequisite for my booking.I had asked several times by phone and in writing in a very friendly and polite manner for an “accommodating” cancellation, even though she simply hadn’t answered my request and wasn’t initially available by phone.This behavior towards a potential guest is not exactly pleasant, I am immediately threatened with legal action etc. We were absolutely friendly and just wanted to eat the menu, which wasn't exactly cheap.My personal conclusion after the communication experience:Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED

Simply EVERYTHING there is WONDERFUL! The beautiful rooms, each different and each lovingly furnished down to the last detail, fantastically good beds. The breakfast is a feast for the eyes and full of delicacies. And if you have the opportunity to be a guest at ACHTERLE: DEFINITELY TAKE IT! Every single one of the eight courses is a visual delight and makes the taste buds rejoice. The great wines and the many exciting stories and background information about the wines and the wineries. The beautifully laid tables, the glasses, the dishes...As a guest, you can simply feel EVERYWHERE the love and passion that the Walter family invests in their gem. A HUGE THANK YOU for the little break (and taking care of the wasp sting I brought from home!)

A real little treasure in picturesque Iphofen.In this boutique hotel you feel right at home and the warm and attentive owners take care of everything perfectly from A to Z.Top breakfast, delicious wine selection (including expert advice) and everything styled down to the last (clean!) corner.That's how it should be, and many hotels - large and small - should take more than a leaf out of this.
