Rating for restaurant: A little too expensive and more of a convenience food, but perfectly located for hiking. I think the portion of the game goulash is a bit too small, but otherwise solid.

I went to Hochkopf Stub in Unterstmatt for dinner and I have to say I'm thrilled! The cozy atmosphere and the warm welcome made my visit a completely successful experience.The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the schnitzels. They were perfectly cooked, juicy and coated in a crispy breading. The portions were generous so that I could fully indulge my culinary desires. The schnitzels were served with a selection of side dishes, including crispy French fries, hash browns or spaetzle and a fresh salad, which was the perfect complement to the schnitzels. The quality of the ingredients was excellent and you could taste the attention to detail in every bite.But that's not all! As a big fan of apple pie, I couldn't resist trying the dessert too. And I wasn't disappointed. The apple pie was simply heavenly. The apples were juicy and aromatic, the dough was nice and airy and light. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal.All in all, I can highly recommend the Hochkopf Stub in Untersmatt. If you're looking for excellent schnitzels and a delicious apple pie, you've come to the right place. The combination of friendly service, cozy atmosphere and first-class cuisine makes this place a true jewel in the Black Forest.

I have no doubt the test of foods in this restaurant and atmosphere but customer friendliness not acceptable. We have enjoyed our lunch in this restaurant yesterday. As my son wanted to try a cake we have been there in the evening again. The same (healthy) lady who served us food in the lunch time being unfriendly and refused us. Her excuses were ‘we have no empty places’ though there were enough empty places without any reservation cards. When I look around the lady said me we are closed already. There still guests enjoying their their foods. According to my understanding this kind of behaviour from that the lady is unprofessional and unacceptable.
