I was looking for a place to stay in Sankt Peter Ording. Because of the pirate festival, many hotels and guesthouses were fully booked. The youth hostel on site, too. During my further research, I came across the Evangelical Youth Recreation Village. After a short phone call, I was informed that there were still rooms available. I was able to book this quickly and easily. It was an overnight stay with breakfast. The rooms and shared bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was rich. It was also quiet in the rooms. The staff were friendly and there is a warm and friendly atmosphere. Been here twice now. Suitable for families as well as groups and individuals, but also couples. Also worth mentioning is the unbeatable price for the performance offered. A hotel or guesthouse would have cost three times as much with a similar offer. If you don't need luxury but want to be in the middle of life, this is the perfect place for you. I would like to come back.

We were there for 5 days with 3 classes. It wasn't so good because the rooms looked like prison and the beds were squashy. There was only tea and milk otherwise you have to buy everything yourself, which is really a disgrace. And you had to drive 20km to the next store, the beach was about 30 minutes away, so I wouldn't recommend that.

Was here on a school trip in the 80s. Still have the pin. I also still have the stone from the mudflat hike with a fossil inclusion.Picking up food with a cart was always exciting for me because we never went out at home or brought food from the road. Just getting away from home was adventure enough... It's great that it still exists!

So the rooms are small and the beds are uncomfortable. For paying so much...a bit bottomless. At the front of the aquarium (the reception) the employees are very rude and rude. And there is only milk and tea to drink. If you want to catch up on food because a group of almost 40 people eats more, then you will be insulted in the kitchen.

Our daughter was there for a school trip.Bullet point:- Rooms small and noisy- only 2 showers for an entire group of girls, plus cold water- There was only tea and milk to drink (no water), you would have had to buy anything else yourself somewhere else.- no drinks with the packed lunch- hot dinner was cold- Children had to go from their houses to the kitchen themselves, load the carts themselves and bring them into the houses- Children had to do the washing up themselves.- basically the whole food was bad, example: rice with chicken - cold, pasta casserole - cold.Basically it's not an issue, but given the prices quoted here (70-80 euros/night/child) it's absolutely unacceptable. We've been to holiday camps cheaper and the service and food were worlds better. Here you can see that the whole thing is designed to maximize profits and the church is cashing in big money here.

We were here in the first week of July. What we liked most is that you have an entire house to yourself, including group rooms and a small kitchen.Of course, you have to be aware beforehand that you will have to do a little more work in the kitchen, as the food is prepared by the hostel, but you have to take care of setting the table and washing the dishes yourself (dishwasher). But this is also a learning opportunity for the children. You pick up dinner every time in warming containers and then bring them back empty. About the taste: Breakfast is sufficient and varied, whereas the warm food is just about edible. I'm also deducting one star here. That's a real shame, there's definitely some catching up to do here. There is a coffee machine and kettle in the house and you could also borrow a stovetop or microwave.About the location: When it rains there aren't that many options other than the swimming pool in town, luckily you have the big house. Or you can plan more trips to other places. The beach is of course special and you should definitely plan a mudflat hike.

We were there in March for a school trip with our 6th grade class. Relaxed, helpful and friendly staff, a bright and practically furnished house with lots of space, beautiful surroundings. We will be back definitely! And we were there again in June 2024 with another 6th grade class and it was wonderful again. Even though all the houses were occupied this time, everything was wonderfully relaxed. The discotheque was particularly impressive, where children and young people from all groups and classes had fun together. I hadn't even mentioned the good food.
