Inspired by my son's enthusiasm about the youth hostel in Bollendorf, I decided to stop here in Norddeich.Difficult to leave stars for review here. Rooms like in the 70s, food only partially in buffet form and if with little choice, staff unfriendly.Only suitable for families with children, how could it be otherwise, but overall unfortunately it has stood still in time. And at a cost where I can also book a very good hotel room. The positive, however, is also the most important argument for real estate per se, the location.And the location is unique as it is only 50 m from the dike. Overall, the service is certainly better and if some work is done on the interior, it will look good.This review is on September 17th. has been edited because the owner has addressed the issue.

Everything was ok so far, but still too loud for us...but that's because of the audience that was there at the time. Dinner and breakfast were ok. Location was good, cleanliness was good and quiet location.

Youth hostel in a good location. Food and rooms are normal standard for a youth hostel. We've had worse ones, but we've also had better ones. But there's nothing to complain about. The food is simple and there is always a vegetarian alternative. The staff is very friendly.

So at first you can't expect much here. Haribo bag under the mattress, staff very nice, food: you can eat sauce made from about 60% water. The windows don't open all the way, you can only tilt them so very little fresh air comes in. Room: Furniture old or run downCan I recommend it? Sometimes if you have a short stay, i.e. 3 days, it's fine, but a week is almost not possible.

If you want to have a relaxed holiday with your family, JH is always the right place for you. Norddeich stands out for its service and location. A stone's throw to the beach. The rooms are modern and even have a balcony. The food is OK.

My daughter was there on a school trip. During her stay she became ill and needed our support. Due to the distance and the traffic situation, it was clear that the journey would take at least 6 minutes. After half a day of work, I also knew that I would never be able to complete both routes in one day. The central office of the youth hostel told me that there were still rooms available and in this case an exception could certainly be made (no room for one night). However, the feedback from the hostel was negative…. “No, we don’t have any rooms available”…. I would have been willing to pay a decent extra charge so that I wouldn't have to move my sick child late in the evening (they only arrived at 9:30 p.m.) - but no chance.At least the staff at the headquarters could be honest - if not understanding

We were on a school trip there and it was bad in the rooms because the drain smelled like something else and then even a fat spider or whatever it was that crawled out of there. Food, well, location is great, but the room would be 0 stars if I could! !!

Great to find, very nice location with a 5 minute walk to the North Sea (city children please find out beforehand what ebb and flow mean).The rooms are equipped appropriately, just like a youth hostel. The sanitary facilities are impeccable and the beds are unexpectedly comfortable.We were very positively surprised by the breakfast and dinner options and there are always vegetarian alternatives.In short: highly recommended, thank you!
