We were there in 06/2024... a really nice and relaxing time. My son (2 years old) really liked it, the farmer and his son were calm, patient and explained well to the children. I would have hoped for more from the hayloft for playing in bad weather, but otherwise it's a really great way to immerse yourself in active farming and experience it up close. Lovely animals that my son could also look after without any problems. Winterberg, Warstein etc. are only a 30-minute drive away and there are many great excursion destinations. We can only recommend the Sauerlandbad with the “SchmallenbergCard” only €2 per person for 4 hours of swimming fun.We would love to come back!!!!

We were on the farm over Pentecost and absolutely loved it. Our girls (14+4) were able to move freely around the farm and in the stables and had lots to discover! After a short briefing, we were even allowed to take the ponies out for a ride on our own. Our swallow's nest was very clean and had everything we needed. Bread service, freshly laid eggs and fresh milk, plus super nice and friendly hosts! What more could you want!

Absolute recommendation for families with children. The apartments are very child-friendly (secure sockets, children's wardrobes, stools in the bathrooms). There was always something to discover on the farm the whole time (7 days) and the children were never bored. We'll be back!

Rooms super child-friendly (socket fuses everywhere, toddler cutlery, toddler chair, children's room, stool for the sink).Games room on the ground floor for inclement weather.Children's playground on the farm, ponies, chickens, rabbits, cows, goats to look at and touch if you dare (goats better not because of their horns and other animals only after consultation with the owners).Tractor rides or pony rides possible by arrangement.Great hiking and jogging routes directly from the farm. Very cozy location.It was a super relaxed family holiday with beautiful nature all around. We can only recommend it.

Slightly remote, beautiful farm.The farm was very central for most excursion destinations.The child can move freely and there is no need to be afraid of traffic.Agriculture is still being practiced. Our 5 year old son was blown away.Tractor, farm loader... ride with farmer Stefan. Help, ask questions...everything was possible. ♡Apartment well equipped (coffee, filter bags, salt, pepper, flour, sugar) bread service was perfect!Great Velux blackout blinds. Our son is very sensitive when it comes to “brightness”. Here it was not a problem.Apartment was well insulated!You didn't notice the very hot temperature outside in the Swallow's Nest.Beautiful balcony, great view. Nice planting :)For us, the Sauerland is very family-friendly and we will definitely come back.One of our best stays so far! THANKS!!!

We liked it very much. The apartment are very clean and well furnished. We thought it was great that you could get involved in so much of everyday life on the farm. All of our son's wishes regarding pony riding, driving a tractor,... were fulfilled. He would have liked to stay longer. Thanks!

A successful break over New Year's Eve in the Sauerland.Very nice family, you immediately feel welcome. The children are allowed to watch the daily operations at any time and can stay freely on the farm.The stables with the very well-kept cows, ponies, rabbits and chickens can be visited and admired at any time.A small pony ride is also possible at any time.Our holiday apartment is clean and well furnished, nothing is missing and we feel very comfortable.With the Schmallenberger family card, many excursion destinations are heavily discounted.Clear recommendation for families with children, we would love to come back :)

My children liked it straight away. You can move around freely here and explore everything. The Gördes family is very nice and friendly. We can take eggs from the chicken coop here and there is also fresh milk from the cows. At the end you have to pay for it but it's very tasty. There is also a lot to discover in the surrounding area

Very nice yard. Well-maintained, clean and well-equipped apartments. Remote, almost car-free location. Very nice, calm host, had a nice chat around the campfire with stick bread, patiently answered all of our questions about farming, taught the little ones (and big ones) how to milk. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back soon 😀Thanks!

Great service, nice people and clean rooms. Well furnished with everything you need and more. Here children will find everything they need for a lovely farm visit. We could watch milking and everyone could try it themselves. Interesting facts about the animals were also explained to us. Take eggs from the stable/cage yourself, fresh milk from the cows. Thumbs up.

Only recommended!Nice people and very clean apartments at reasonable prices.The photos on the homepage are probably a bit older.Our apartment was newly furnished and painted.The whole yard makes a well-kept impression.The children (3+5) have a lot of fun here.3 rabbits, 4 horses, 2 goats and about 70 cows and fresh eggs from the chickens.We'll be back!
