My wife and I ate in the restaurant yesterday, people you just have to go there, service was great, food was delicious and we were allowed to take our Labrador with us. We'll definitely eat there again.

The restaurant offers some vegetarian dishes, none of which can unfortunately be offered in vegan form (except for the classic portion of fries). I asked if it was possible to make any dish vegan by omitting certain products - this was apparently not possible for any dish. The reason given was, among other things, that the cook didn't have time for that. This may be understandable due to the staff situation, but one could have expected more flexibility and accommodatingness from a restaurant that states on the website that all dishes are prepared fresh.

We ate at the Sonnenecke Alm restaurant and it was very good, I haven't eaten such a good rump steak in a long time. The peppers and fried potatoes were also freshly prepared. It's worth coming here

We had dinner at the Sonneneck Alm. Making a reservation was no problem. When we asked if we could take our dog with us, we said, "Let's see how big he is." We decided to sit on the terrace because we felt like we weren't wanted indoors because of our four-legged friend. The location of the restaurant is very nice. The service was good and friendly. The price-performance ratio wasn't that great. We each had a "normal" Viennese-style pork schnitzel for €19.80, carelessly prepared, too thick and the side salad was very roughly cut. A dip would have been great with our fries with schnitzel, there was basically nothing to go with it and after eating about 7 fries, it just became far too dry.

I recently dined with my family at the Sonneneck Alm restaurant in Hohegeiß, and unfortunately our experience was more than disappointing. What was particularly shocking was the salad our children ordered. This only consisted of a few lettuce leaves and grated carrots, with no dressing at all. That would have been disappointing enough, but what particularly annoyed us were the many unappetizing carrot ends, carrot peels and lettuce stalks that made the salad downright inedible. It was only when we asked that some dressing was brought to us - an absolute disgrace! The rest of the food was also far below our expectations. The fries that were served with the schnitzel appeared to have been in the deep fryer at least twice, making them extremely greasy and inedible. The schnitzel itself wasn't any better either - dry and tasteless. The service tried hard, but that couldn't make up for the poor food. Overall, our visit to the Sonneneck Alm was a big disappointment. Neither the food nor the service justify the prices. I can therefore not recommend a visit to this restaurant at all. If you are looking for a good meal in the Harz, you should look for another option. In any case, we won't be coming back.

We ate in the small restaurant and are still thrilled about it to this day. You could tell that there was a lot of passion from the service to the chef. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop there again to eat.

Only went to the restaurant for dinner. Nice restaurant, everything relatively new, clean with a touch of alpine feeling.Unfortunately, the Rostbrätl weren't fried well and the onions were gone, so there was only canned fried onions. My pork medallion was good but a bit lacking in meat for a 20 euro meal. Another point of criticism: there was no milk, so there was no cappuccino or anything like that...Later, guests were at least sent away because they had nothing more to offer. But for us that's no excuse for being closed for 2 days afterwards.Short and sweet -> not recommended
