The rooms are relatively large and were clean. The furnishings are simple, but OK. It was good that at least one window had a fly screen. What was less good was that there was only a small closet, so we had to live out of a suitcase at times. A wastepaper basket would also be nice or, alternatively, a larger trash can in the bathroom. A small refrigerator would be great. Just FYI: Room service is only available upon request and the TVs are very small, but we didn't mind that. The view from the room was nice, which compensated for the location right on the street.The breakfast is good. In the evening we were rather disappointed: my wife had salad with Maultaschen. The Maultaschen and the dressing were ready-made products. I had salad with fried char siew which was very good. Unfortunately, the not very tasty (ready-made) dressing was also excessive and drowned the salad. The beer garden is okay, but even there it's nicer somewhere else.We therefore ate somewhere else in the evening and were able to enjoy better food with a much better price-performance ratio everywhere: we recommend the Gasthaus zur Traube in Wielandsweiher (Kressbronn) and the Brauhaus max und moritz (Kressbronn).Should it be a little better?- the restaurant of the Hotel zur Traube in Friedrichshafen,- the Sonnenhof (Kressbronn) and- the shipyard 1919 (Kressbronn) is recommendedThe service was good. Big praise for the service staff at breakfast: very friendly and attentive! The waiter at dinner was also good. The host couple's daughter was quite harsh, but not bad - we expected something different based on the reviews.The host couple themselves are properly friendly, but nothing more.The clientele consists of many bikers and older couples.The price-performance ratio was okay.Points are deducted for the fact that much more is promised on the homepage than is subsequently delivered. For example, it says that all rooms have parquet floors and the furniture, mainly made of solid wood, is of high quality. Our two rooms had (cheap click) laminate and not a single piece of furniture made of solid wood, but veneer furniture.Or it is emphasized how much food is homemade, which contradicts the ready-made products at dinner (see above).It is also emphasized that hospitality is the credo, which is also not true in this form.I just don't like that kind of thing, hence three stars.By the way: The photos on the homepage are easily 10 years old.Conclusion: If you are looking for simple and cheap accommodation with a decent breakfast, you can't go wrong here. That fits. If you have a certain claim, you should look elsewhere. We definitely advise against dinner.

We were only there for dinner. Very friendly service. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. And the kitchen even waited for us even though we were late. Top location with Swabian specialties.

We only went to the restaurant for dinner. It was a warm day and we really enjoyed the gardening. The service is attentive and friendly. I had really delicious cheese spaetzle with a roast beef. We would definitely go there again. Also a clear recommendation for cyclists.
