We felt very comfortable in this hotel. Our large room was quiet with a large balcony. The employees there are extremely friendly and very hardworking!The location of the hotel is ideal for all activities. You can walk to the center in 5 minutes. Hikes can start right outside the front door. It is also a stone's throw from the lake to Murnau by car. We were in the Ammerschlucht – well worth seeing and reachable in 10 minutes by car. The Ettal Monastery is in the immediate vicinity. I can also recommend the Ettal Mill with its beer garden.

Good wellness hotel with friendly staff.Air conditioning would have been desirable, it was 28°-32° during our stay and therefore a warm room to sleep in.Breakfast was okay, but the selection is poor for vegans/vegetarians.Dinner was good and we even got an appetizer on the house.When it comes to appointments for treatments, the employees try very hard to accommodate you on time.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at this hotel! The entire staff was super nice and listened to our every wish. The food was not only excellent in terms of taste, but also a visual delight. The sauna and swimming pool were also first class and made our stay even more enjoyable. All in all, everything was really excellent. We'd love to come back!

During our stay at Hotel Johannesbad we experienced the friendliest service we have ever had. From reception to housekeeping to the kitchen, the staff was always friendly, attentive and helpful. We were even helped beyond the usual level with a surprise breakfast. The hotel is particularly recommended for nature lovers who want to enjoy the surrounding mountains and slow down. The quiet location requires a means of transport, but many attractive destinations can be reached within an hour.We traveled with our little four-legged friend, who received a warm welcome. Although dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, we found this to be a positive thing as it maintains a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we can highly recommend the hotel.

I spent two days in the wellness department. The weather was bad and I treated myself to a body scrub and then a wrap in the floating lounger. The best thing was the energy treatment the next day. Sandra is just amazing. Highly recommended and thank you very much for the fantastic treatment.I'll be back soon and then I'll try the excellent cuisine with my family.

We received a voucher for Christmas and chose this hotel. A stroke of luck. Very nice house, tasteful rooms. The staff, no matter who they are, are always friendly and ready to provide information. The food was very good. We would love to come back. Highly recommended. Wellness can only be recommended. A big thank you to all employees from all areas.

Short break 4 days, extremely tastefully furnished house with local color. Food excellent and imaginative, perfect and very friendly service. Uniquely designed, large swimming pool with a pleasant wellness area. Very good hiking opportunities and excursion destinations. A ray of hope in a place that has not recognized the signs of the times!

Completely unsuitable as a spa hotel, especially for patients entitled to benefits, due to the current hotel management. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are OK and clean. The place is pretty dead, but the environment for hiking and cycling tours is unique. The hotel management is only looking for profit, agreements were not kept for flimsy, unprovable reasons.

We were guests at Johannesbad for a week. Overall, we are not entirely convinced by the price-performance ratio. We first booked through booking.com. Since different rooms are shown there, I called and asked for one of the newly furnished rooms. I should book the Loisach category directly through the hotel. Since the hotel website for "Loisach" only shows pictures of modernly furnished rooms, we assumed we would get one of those. Upon arrival we were given an old-fashioned (vintage) room with carpeted floors. When we asked specifically for one without a carpet, we were given one without a carpet, but a very dark one with vintage-style furniture. We stayed there for one night until I brought myself to mention again that we were actually expecting a room like the one shown on the website. Luckily we got one too. The one receptionist was also very understanding. We were then charged for the room change, but the boss took it out on his own initiative at checkout.We booked half board for two evenings. At breakfast we chose the menu and registered again at reception with three external guests. In the evening, it was not half board that was charged, but the price for external accommodation, as this was not passed on. The next morning we noticed this and were told by the receptionist, "We have to register this beforehand!", although she had written it down herself. Overall, communication seems to be expandable.The food was very good. The taste is on a high level and usually very nicely prepared. The dining room is also beautifully decorated in Bavarian style.The sauna area needs to be renovated in some places. Many showers don't work and there are black spots (mold) in some places? The faucet in the men's toilet should be repaired and in the herbal sauna the water sometimes sprays past the herbs (probably due to limescale deposits). Unfortunately the sauna towels are also too short, but luckily there are enough towels in the room.The pool area is small but nice with a view of the garden. However, the opening times of the spa area are very short for a wellness hotel. (From 4:00 p.m. although from October online it says from 3:00 p.m.).Overall, in our opinion, there is a lot of potential for improvement, especially considering the not low price.

We only came as restaurant guests: the asparagus and fish were excellent, the beef was as hard as the sole of a shoe. The service was distant and didn't respond to the information any further.
