Very nice, good services, clean. Peaceful. Nice staff and good breakfast.Maybe only small downside in the room was the bed, which was not so good and slightly "outdated". You also might consider bringing up the lights in the rooms - now they were quite dim/weak.

Stayed at this hotel with family while on an Alpine tour back in 2022. The hotel is within good walking distance from the center of Oberammergau and the Passion play theater which we ended up watching. The view outside when you wake up in the morning is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms themselves were comfortable and service all around was excellent.

Great location with a view and still close to town. Staff awesome. Sauna ok. Unfortunately, the swimming pool and fitness studio cannot be used. Breakfast 4.5/5 stars. Beds are rather uncomfortable (feel plastic-like and the pillow is also worn out). The heating is also a bit acoustically disturbing when you fall asleep. Overall a good 4 stars.

Had a great stay here, restaurant was very good and great view of town from the room balcony. It didn't have a minimum stat when booking, which was important for our trip. And recommend booking direct on their website!

Everything perfect, the only flaw..... the furnishings leave a little to be desired. The SPA service and the gym are excellent, both free, while the solarium and massage center have a fee.

I went there last year to work in the Passion Play and left in 5 days due to the bad conditions, and I worked full time in that week but they didn't pay me anything. Not every German is legal and respectable. Apart from that the hotel is not very centric in Oberammergau and there are better options.- Addendum to the answer: Thank you for your good wishes, which I also share with you. It's true that leaving early in the morning and without notice wasn't what I should have done either, even though I knew I only had accommodation as long as I was working, it was a rookie mistake on my part; but I don't see how that can obscure the truth that I wasn't paid improperly on your part because I signed the employment contract; and of course this is my personal experience and not a review of the hotel as a guest, which I have never experienced, but I think it is useful for possible future customers to know how you treat your employees.Yes, we are all portrayed very well in this episode, I agree, kind regards Gonzalo

Let me start with the verdict: Never again Sonnenhof for us. This is not worthy of a 4* and NOT DOG FRIENDLY!!We would like to have something to eat upon arrival. However, we could only get something to drink. So we walked towards the center and had something to eat and drink there. We had a small dog with us and it was clear to us that we were therefore not allowed to have breakfast / dinner in the restaurant. The first morning we report to the service for breakfast. They immediately pointed to the dog and said rather bluntly, "Not with the dog." That was clear to us sir, we are going to sit outside. So we walked a short distance through the restaurant to get to the terrace. Now the weather was nice so we could sit outside, but in bad weather you can only eat with the dog in your room or leave your dog alone.Later that day we had dinner, again outside and luckily the weather was still nice. Food was okay, but not special.Back to breakfast the next morning. This time no response from the service, but a look at the dog as if one saw a cockroach walking. The breakfast is quite mediocre and certainly not 4* worthy. The layout is also very special. You keep walking back and forth. In the evening I had a swim in the pool, but unfortunately the sauna and steam cabin were already turned off (at 8:45 PM) even though the pool doesn't close until 10:00 PM.The next morning we would have breakfast again. I was loading the car and my wife had reported to the attendant again. She walked the dog through the restaurant again very briefly to get to the terrace and then a gentleman came up to her very angrily and said 'aah aah aah' and angrily pointed my finger at the dog. Then he closed and locked all the doors. My wife could no longer enter, but had to walk back in through reception and then up again. We were furious and completely taken aback, we walked to reception to complain. The clerk heard our story and could not imagine that this incident would have happened because the clerk had worked at the restaurant for years.Yet this was the case. "Maybe that was because the gentleman was alone and it was busy," I was told. But that is not our problem and you cannot blame it on your guests. In addition, we could also be approached in a friendly manner about walking through the restaurant. If this was not allowed, they could have indicated this in a friendly manner and explained to us how to walk.If you say on your website that you are a dog-friendly hotel, this does not mean that the dog is only welcome in the room. I can't make any income from the restaurant anymore. (By the way, there is plenty of room to reserve a room separately for dog owners)I wasn't going to pay for the dog because this hotel is not dog friendly at all. Finally the receptionist agreed. So dog owners, ignore this hotel and look for a hotel where dogs are treated normally and are welcome. It is clear to us that we will never go to Parkhotel Sonnenhof again.

Beautiful entrance room, restaurant and 80's services. Price too high!. Junior suite for 4 people were 2 connecting rooms in one room there was a TV in the other there was nothing. TV only in German without pay TV or satellite. A bar fridge that borders on ridiculous is hard to put even a small bottle of water in. The HORRIBLE nightmarish bathroom with improvised tiles and a continuous drip of water from the ceiling. Luckily we only stayed one night. Never seen something like this in a 4 star hotel
