Schloss Mörlbach was incredible! We booked out nearly the entire second floor and one large basement room for a total of 29 people during one of the Oktoberfest weekends. The rooms were all clean, well decorated, were as described in terms of beds, and had nice views to the outdoors. The castle is on a large plot of land that is quiet, welcoming, and beautiful. It was quite easy to get to from Munich - both by car (plenty of parking spaces) and by train (S7 from Munich HBF to Icking). There is a large grocery minutes away that has everything you would need. The castle also has a large pantry that stocks snacks, drinks, and beer that you can pay for individually, which was a really nice touch. All the bathrooms were very clean. We had rooms with private bathrooms, but also had the four shared baths to ourselves on the second floor. Communication was very thorough and done by email. We would highly recommend and hope to stay there again someday!

A beautiful house but we are probably too old for country school flair. Having your own bathroom makes the fun really expensive. Be sure to pay attention to cancellation fees!!!!!!

Great place to stay. I stayed in a room with private bath. The common areas are cleaned all the time and the dishwasher unloaded. It is a shared fridge with your room labelled in the Fridge. Location is as described, you have to come by car. There are great running, cycling routes in the nearby area with minimal traffic. It is really quiet at night and quite peaceful.

Very quiet castle hotel. The room was very stylish and decorated with contemporary elements. The bathroom was modern and completely clean. The garden is wonderfully planted, with grazing sheep and wandering chickens, excellent for switching off and escaping from everyday life. The basement of the castle is a museum-like time capsule that brings back many memories. We were completely satisfied and will definitely return.

Mega accommodation - very nice rooms - mega garden, organic chickens, sheep, great concept with a trust fund for self-catering (breakfast, snacks, wine and drinks) I will definitely come back. So relaxing - I don't need anything more.

Incredible place. In this Jugendstil Villa you are being taken a century in time. There is no reception, no check in. You just arrive and feel like you are in your own villa. At the same time a friendly welcome note let's you know you are expected and welcome. I had a very large suite with a comfortable bed and nice view over the lake. While this is not your typical hotel, it was very quiet and I have never come across other guests other than in the wide garden where a group of young people enjoyed their dinner under the massive oak trees. You want to say thank you to the owner for letting you in, for hosting you and making a available their house to you. Bathrooms are clean and modern, while the villa in general is kept "dated", maintaining their distinct traditional character. So do not expect modern house technology. I enjoyed not having a TV. It gives you suddenly two hours of free time to enjoy the garden or drive to the lake for an evening swim watching the sun going down while the snow covered mountains turn orange. I do not need breakfast because it went to the nearby bakery. But there is a kitchen and you can fix you own breakfast. So this is not your typical hotel, there is no service, but that's fine with me. You are staying in your own villa and this feeling is great. A nice check our cards alongside a bottle of water for your onward journey is a nice gesture to let you know that you were a welcome guest. I am very happy to return with my entire family. How often can you stay in a private villa in one of the nice's placest on earth? Thanks again for a great experience.

Nice welcome and super friendly, helpful staff. The kids really enjoyed the free-roaming dogs, sheep and chickens. Many different seating options in the garden. The grill could be replaced again, as it is very rusty. Badminton rackets and footballs available. Table tennis bats need replacing. The kids also thought the cable car was great. A net around the trampoline wouldn't be a bad idea. The constant noise of the highway is a bit annoying.Apartment very clean with a mix of Ikea and antique furniture. We thought it was ok. Some of the rooms were very large, some were very small. The pillows weren't very comfortable. Please get decent ones. A slightly higher quality shampoo (smelled like normal soap) and a few toiletries were great.Water very calcareous. Please exchange it.Sufficient children's toys available. We found the small farm shop in the basement very practical. In our opinion, the prices were completely reasonable.I found the Israel flag hanging out of the window on the first floor a bit inappropriate in today's situation in the Middle East. In my opinion, it doesn't belong in a place like this where everyone is welcome.We would love to come back and felt comfortable.

Like in a fairy tale, I was looking for an overnight stay near Munich for business reasons and came across Mörlbach Castle. Fast connection from Icking directly to Munich city center by SBahn. It's so beautiful here that I would love to stay for a vacation. I'll definitely come back. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. I had booked the cheapest room with a shared bathroom, unfortunately the previous person had packed your key. I was offered the most luxurious room with a lake view and a private bathroom at no extra charge. Everything is very clean, excellent coffee and the small farm shop offers everything your heart desires for breakfast. Great facilities and clean kitchens with everything you could want for a pleasant stay. Price/performance ratio is definitely right too! The whole thing is a great concept and beautifully located. Many thanks again to the owners for this beautiful place
