Went there on a motorbike.Very good starting point for tours through the Black Forest!We were provided with a garage free of charge.Rooms rustic but clean and everything works. Food good and service great.

We recommend the inn because the Mühl family processes products from the region and makes a special contribution to raising Hinterwald cattle. By managing the alpine pastures in the Präg Glacier Basin, you ensure the preservation of the valuable culture and pasture landscape.With your visit you too can honor the work of our farmers.

Beautiful guesthouse in a natural location! We went there for dinner with the family. Unfortunately, since it was quite warm that day, things weren't any better in the inn. The heat was in the rooms, so it was more pleasant outside. It's a shame that there are only a few seats outside. But it's a really cute inn with a game reserve right behind the house.The service is very nice and accommodating, but I would have liked more attention to be paid to ensuring that the guests have enough drinks or that refills would be given if requested. Otherwise everything was great.Meat and fish are produced in-house. You can taste that it is fresh.As a starter there was a small mixed salad that was well prepared. For the main course I had the pork loin with a fine sauce and homemade fries. My friend had the onion roast. Unfortunately, it was a little overcooked, so it was a little dry.Despite the heat, we had a lovely evening at the Hirschen Inn. I would like to come back during game season to try this.

Went there twice to eat because it was very tasty. I can only highly recommend it, but you should make a reservation! The staff is very friendly, asked about hiking trails and then hiked them and this one was excellent! Thank you very much for the recommendation and everything else too!

The inn is really super nice!The food was excellent whether it was game or steak, both were great!Our dog received a warm welcome 😁The landlady even bought us a bouquet of flowers because she found out that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.We will be back definitely !

Celebrated my birthday in the Hirschen. Everything was perfectly prepared. The food was excellent and was well served by the staff. All guests were thrilled. Can highly recommend the Hirschen.

We visited the location alone to eat. We can't say anything about the rest:Maybe we just had a bad day because we can't understand all the good reviews:- Tablecloth at the table reserved for us (reservation 3 days in advance) was stained- Service very slow and sluggish (3 tables occupied)- no daily menu, no game dishes- some drinks not available (malt beer) - on a weekday.- Ready-made sauce (from the packet) for the cordon bleu- Strong and annoying smell of burnt food from the kitchen (Tosch opposite counter or kitchen)---> It then turned out that this was our food:See pictures.Rump steak also has many lengthwise fibers and hard pieces of fat (see e.g. front left). A piece so inedible that I put it back on the plate and left it (large walnut).Cordon Bleu tasted strongly of “old pork” and old fat.When I asked if everything was OK, the rump steak was mentioned first, but nothing more was said:After being informed directly by service (which we didn't actually want to do), the lady from the kitchen came to the table with a large piece of raw meat on her plate (probably for inspection):They wanted to make it clear to us in many, quick and emphatic words that we had no idea about meat or cutting technology. Overall, they didn't want to allow any criticism and rejected everything.(We often prepare steaks ourselves and sometimes cut the meat from the wholesale market ourselves. We also often eat steaks out. However, we have never experienced anything like that, except when the meat was really cut incorrectly - there's nothing you can do about it. Maybe the wrong piece of beef was simply used for a rump steak.By the way, we ate beef and especially steaks three times elsewhere during the holiday week, which were always excellent!)We didn't feel like having any further discussions and left after paying.There were other things that bothered us personally that I won't go into in detail.So we won't go there anymore...2 stars for the salad, the side dish (French fries) and the fact that the prices would be acceptable, provided that the food is not received by the guests on other days as above.
