Holidays on the farm - the easiest and most beautiful way to go on holiday with children, in our opinion. We've been going there for years and our oldest just wants to go there too. The Ratjen family holiday farm is recommended for various reasons.- The farm is family-run, which means there is a relaxed atmosphere on the farm.- There are few apartments, so it's not overcrowded anywhere and you can identify the other holiday guests, which also creates trust.- the farm is located in the Aukrug Nature Park - from here you can easily explore Schleswig-Holstein by car or public transport. There are bicycles on site, so you can easily explore the surrounding area and leave your car behind.- the play possibilities on the farm alone are endless: a hayloft for bad weather, various vehicles, sandpits, trampolines, swings... There are also playgrounds nearby and of course there is also a forest.- the farm - there is a dairy farm where you can not only watch but also work. Questions are answered by all employees and there is always something to do (if you want). In addition to the dairy cows, there are also small animals that are directly on the farm and can also be looked after by holiday guests, chickens (and fresh eggs, for a small price), ponies (pony riding is regularly offered for the children), horses and cats (who of course like to be cuddled and also have babies every now and then).- the surroundings are simply beautiful and there are many activities that you can do in Aukrug or in nearby Neumünster (outdoor pool in Aukrug, swimming pool with a really great toddler area in Neumünster, painting ceramics in the ceramic barn, hiking in the forest...)- The apartments - we have already vacationed in various apartments on the farm and each one is beautifully designed and has something for itself. They are all well equipped and if something is missing, you can ask and they will always help you.Conclusion: It's so beautiful there and that's what everyone who goes there says and actually everyone wants to come back. There are few holidays where you arrive and can immediately be relaxed. Here it is the case. The children are busy all day and can move independently and freely, you can simply enjoy the peace and quiet, do sports or help on the farm - everything is possible.I would recommend this farm to everyone, it's always nice even for a weekend. We love coming and always plan a holiday there well in advance (holidays are very popular).

Very nicely located farm with lots of things to do. The “hands-on” cowshed is particularly worth highlighting. Highly recommended for families.

This peace and quiet is wonderful. Lots of animals (horses, cows, cats). Beautiful courtyard, rooms modernly furnished. Perfect for relaxing.

Beautiful holiday farm in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, centrally located between the seas - perfect for many activities and excursion destinations.Our holiday apartment “Meierei” was so pretty, bright and cozy. We felt very comfortable!Our daughter's highlights were the straw floor and of course the straw bale pool. Splendid! We didn't know it before and we really enjoyed it!The farm is fully managed. Not only is this incredibly interesting, but there is always fresh milk & more.Every now and then there are afternoon events in the dairy kitchen with coffee and homemade cakes for everyone - holiday guests, employees, trainees, innkeepers including grandma and grandpa. So everyone comes together, sits at a long table and exchanges ideas about all sorts of things. Great!Our daughter's declared favorite farm!
