I returned to this place from my student days after 35 years and found it unchanged: same authentic Bavarian hospitality at reasonable prices and in a unique setting under chestnut trees next to an old monastery. The beer is especially good here!

It is old style Bayern. Bedrooms are basic and reasonable. Great Biergarten . Easy drive to Regensburg and Kehlheim. Have stayed at Prosslbrau three times. There is an old chapel on the property . The Gasthof is in a rural and very picturesque settimg

Good german food. It was pretty busy, as we were there on Sunday, so the wait was expected. However, anyway we were served pretty quickly. Waiting staff was friendly.I liked the idea that I could by the beer separately to food.I forgot to take the pics of food, but look at this boy who arrived there 🤣

Good food and view. Good service. Friendly dog who keeps on an eye on the biergarten. Beautiful historical monastery/church. Well worth a day (especially in good weather) spent up on the hill, or taking the well known trail through the forest and finishing up with a delicious meal at the top and an expansive view.

We only visited the biergarten, but could see from the inside it is old and full of character. There are inside dining rooms as well. They have been brewing beer here for about 150 years. Good menu selection. Buy and collect your own beer which is fun. Plenty of tables and lots of free parking.

Beautiful location just outside of Regensburg, great for a leisurely 10km bike ride. The beer is excellent, but the food menu could include a few more veggie+vegan options.

We came across the Prösslbräu by accident, because we normally stay at the Spital Brewery in Regensburg. On our way home from Croatia we discovered the Spital was fully booked and looked for the nearest Brewery to overnight. …
