We had a family dinner with 11 people and were super satisfied. The meat is perfectly cooked, the portions are more than generous, the atmosphere is great and the ambience in the sandstone walls is also beautiful.I would happily recommend it!

We had dinner in the Dragoon Building with 6 people as part of a business trip. The restaurant was almost empty - which surprised us because the location is really nice. …

We went to a wedding reception at the Dragoon Building at the weekend and have never had such a bad experience. The waitresses were all very unfriendly (except for the middle-aged lady with dark, long, curly hair) and seemed as if they didn't care about guests. We wouldn't be asked for drinks unless we went straight to the counter and ordered them and took them with us.The buffet didn't look very appealing and filling it up when something was empty unfortunately didn't work either. The next morning we had a flat breakfast with 25 people (€16 per person) and things continued to be disappointing. There was 1 roll for everyone and when we asked to get some more I got a rude answer...then I'll just have to bake some again...The selection was also a bit meager for €16Butter, 3 types of jam, Nutella, salami, one type of cold cuts, Camembert and Gouda, coffee, juice and water... and also the problem when something was empty, it was empty because the waitress preferred to stay behind the counter.Too bad. Such a beautiful location and such poor service.

I was invited to a wedding in the Dragoons' Den and I honestly can't understand all the positive reviews. For a wedding that was planned in advance and discussed, everything was arranged very carelessly. The buffet was simply slap-dash for a wedding, it was hardly refilled and it wasn't particularly tasty either. Well, I was perhaps a little irritated by the view into the kitchen and the flies that were sitting on the meat (even though it was still wrapped). For the food I would therefore give it a rating of “You could eat it”. One service was very friendly, the second was neutral and the third woman was massively unfriendly and I'm not sensitive! Harassing guests and doing so as standard is simply not possible. All in all, I think that's a shame, because the location itself is really very nice and the beer garden would also invite you to linger if it weren't for the above points. The dragoon den saw me for the first and last time.

In August 2024 we celebrated our wedding in the Dragoon Building. At first we were really very happy because everything we had imagined was well planned and discussed. From our side, everything was well planned and we had a good feeling that everything would be implemented as presented and discussed. In itself it is also a wonderful location for eating or celebrating. That's why we chose these for our wedding. The outdoor area (park) is also a beautiful place for a celebration with many guests. But unfortunately there were some discrepancies the evening before the wedding, when our family and witnesses came to decorate. And on the wedding day, some things didn't go as planned. However, this was mainly because Mr. Gerber did not pass on what we had discussed to his service staff. He couldn't be reached the evening before the celebration and was only there for about an hour on the day of the wedding.A certain table decoration was agreed upon, only half of which was present. The overpriced candy bar was also disappointing, as its offerings were supposed to be significantly different from the candy bar that is always set up in the restaurant. In the end, all that was left was small Rittersport chocolates and small pre-packaged Haribo gummy bears. From around 5:00 p.m. the beer garden was opened to restaurant guests, which basically wouldn't be a problem if Mr. Gerber hadn't explicitly promised us 2-3 service staff in the offer who were only supposed to serve our wedding party. There were almost 50 of us and the service staff would actually have been sufficient. Because we served à la carte guests in the beer garden, our guests often had to get their own drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, the service for us and our guests was little to no longer available over the course of the evening.Another big disappointment was breakfast the next morning with some of our guests. The offer was inadequate and the price-performance ratio was not good at all. There was only cheese, sausage, a few baked rolls and some jam. For €16 you expect more choice (cereals, fruit, raw vegetables, various cold cuts) and, above all, service. There was a roll on the table for each guest, and additional rolls and drinks had to be ordered at the counter. A waitress didn't come to the table. Apparently the price should also include a coffee offer (cappuccino, latte macchiato, latte, etc.). However, according to a “service person”, this could not be used because the coffee machine was broken. After the wedding, Mr. Gerber was willing to talk to us again about the bill and the points that went badly. Unfortunately, it didn't come to us as we had hoped. It was already clear to us during the conversation that he was calculating everything nicely, so that we ultimately had to pay for “services” that were not provided or were provided poorly.Too bad...

I definitely wouldn't host a larger celebration there! Keywords negative:Warm sparkling wineUnfriendly servicePoor/lack of serviceUnfavorable candy barLack of hot foodLukewarm thin filter coffeePoor overpriced breakfastShabby roomsIf there is a complaint, the boss gives a discount which he then adds on to elsewhereI was invited to a wedding reception there at the beginning of August. 😉Since several guests, like us, had a longer journey, we booked a room in the Dragoon Building. We got the keys and wanted to bring our things to the room before we went to the champagne reception. The place was already very worn out and also dirty from the previous user. So get out quickly, let the staff clean up and then go to the champagne reception. There we were welcomed with warm champagne by a young, unfriendly service person. The next tablet and the one after that, in the end there were 4 or 5, were also loaded with warm champagne.Even if the photographer has worked overtime with the wedding couple in the park directly in front of the dragoon building, you can't load the trays with champagne at least an hour beforehand. This is a total rookie mistake.Perhaps it was also due to the situation that the wedding couple was promised two to three service staff for the wedding. However, they also had to take care of the terrace for daily operations. After what felt like an eternity we finally received fresh and cold champagne. Now we were finally able to move into our room and freshen up. The room, as I said, very shabby, wasn't exactly a blast. The kettle was broken, several light bulbs were broken, the drain in the shower was completely blocked with hair so that no water could flow out and the shower cubicle was so broken that it was difficult to close it completely and even with a wide slot. The result was a wet bath. Then we went back downstairs for coffee and cake. Past a candy bar (which the bride and groom paid for) nice thing, but unfortunately all the day guests could also help themselves there. The coffee was very thin but that's probably a matter of taste 😉Every drink had to be ordered from the two service staff - one was in a bad mood and the other had hair on her teeth. Even when we were eating, no one came to the table and asked what drinks we wanted. If you're like me and like to eat soup and a salad before your main course, you may have been out of luck. Because after a very short time one of the hot dishes was empty. Unfortunately nothing was refilled. I had to scrape together the leftovers, which were good, but there was no meat left in the sauce.Unfortunately, breakfast the next morning didn't help get the day off to a good start. Again the same thin coffee, orange juice that tasted of caraway, a selection of sausages and cheeses that didn't deserve its name. Everything was just laid out carelessly. No fruit, no piece of vegetables or cereal was searched for in vain. After everyone had taken a roll, all the baskets were empty. But due to the perfect lack of service, you had to get up and go to the counter to order more. With the result that there were answers like: "Then we'll just have to bake it again"HELLO, what kind is that? For me as the father of the bride, it was unfortunately very shameful how the bride and groom were dumped.I hope everyone who has their celebration organized there has better experiences.
