This hostel is in need of some renovation. This is most evident in the game room, where a broken tennis table meets old walls, an uneven billiard table and a table soccer which creeks and squeaks every time you try to turn a stick. The bedrooms are rather small and you’re quite crammed with little storage space. Shared bathrooms, showers are in cubicles but without doors, so only limited privacy. The outside appearance of the hostel could also be worked on, the lobby and dining area look fine.Breakfast was good, staff was kind.

The people of the staff is cool but the boss just is no human... He talk for the guest like a animals and because of we are young and a little beat funny in your opinion... He order to give for us just a bad BAD FOOD. EVERYTHING IS VEGAN. Potato and salads for lunch for us, and soup for the others guest.

For a roomservice with bathroom, everything is clear and nice. Very good and serviceminded woman in reception. Will love to come again.

The youth hostel is a bit older and has the typical flair. We had a family room with 3 bunk beds. Shower and toilet across the hall, it wouldn't be for me for a longer stay. But the staff was super accommodating and friendly. Even though we arrived late (we had notified us), we were still able to enjoy dinner in peace and with a great selection of salads. Breakfast was again with an extensive selection; it was also refilled shortly before the end of breakfast. We'd love to come back.

The rooms and the entire furnishings are outdated, but usable. The team is very friendly and helpful. The food is youth hostel standard. Breakfast consists of cheap mass-produced goods, but is passable. The lasagna is great. The JHB is a bit remote from the city center, but right next to a very beautiful forest.Easily usable outdoor area on the Weser. Fire pit in the degree would be even nicer when mowed. The bus into town runs every hour. The footpath over the pedestrian bridge directly to the Weserstein seems to have been closed for a while.

Good accommodation, but completely overpriced in my opinion. 1 person including breakfast 47 €...We spent the days before on our bike tour on the Fulda in good guesthouses... even with breakfast, we paid a lot less.

Yes, that's a little difficult now: the service, especially when booking, was very friendly and competent. I last visited the JH 50 years ago, so a bit has changed. The room, at least with a bathroom, was okay, but the beds weren't: what felt like a 6cm foam mattress in a nasty plastic cover made for a bad night, and the price for the double room at over €90 is quite high. The breakfast was okay, we found it difficult that the bike shed was locked at 7:30 p.m., which meant walking 3 km into the city center.

Room great, had received an email saying that the reception was not occupied and how we could still get in and instructions on how to behave. Everything worked like clockwork, only the main road is very loud.

The DJH is noticeably getting old. We only spent one night there and drove on the next day, but it was OK. You notice that staff is only available on an hourly basis and there may be a lack of connection to the DJH facility, which in my opinion does not function optimally without personal commitment.

When I saw the prices for a single room I thought I had accidentally selected the 'Luxury Spa Package'. The location is 'okay' if you're a marathon runner - for everyone else the city is just a short 2km hike away. The interior could be described as 'retro' if you mean the last century. All in all, it's the perfect place for someone who would rather save their money for the gym. Unfortunately the beds are a bit uncomfortable, but it's okay for one night. However, the breakfast was really ok. Of course everything with 100% self service.
