A wonderful place to stay. Actually a music academy, so there are few guest rooms and a certain youth hostel charm, as it is primarily designed for larger groups. But the rooms are great and the atmosphere of the monastery is great, even if a lot of things have been renovated a bit to death. A visit to the museum is definitely worth it, but you have to drive to neighboring Blankenstein for dinner; there is nothing around apart from the snack bar at Klosterfischer, which closes at 6 p.m.

Last weekend, in sunny weather, the three of us walked to the “Zum weissen Mönch” inn after visiting the monastery complex. We sat down at one of the small tables in the inn's front garden to relax and enjoy coffee and cake. The other tables were well attended by day guests.Well, there we sat and waited patiently for the service. This lady, dressed in black and wearing a white apron, also came to the tables every now and then, always looking into our expectant faces and obviously noticing our waving to order, always accompanied by a quick turn of her face...and it happened: NOTHING!!!Astonishing, because other guests who had come after us were served without any problems (!) ... while we continued to wait ... and wait ... and wait ... and then after almost ¾ of an hour we left the place of rudeness, frustrated and enriched by an experience.Now we ask ourselves in retrospect whether we were consciously “overlooked” and ignored because we were recognized as Wessis by the bespectacled eyes of the “waitress”?!?!As the saying goes: Honi soit qui mal y pense (A rogue who thinks evil!)Conclusion:The monastery complex is well maintained and well worth seeing. However, we would definitely not recommend visiting the “Zum weissen Mönch” restaurant.

The food is disgusting, the only thing edible are the desserts. Under no circumstances use sauce and vegetables!!!! At least service doesn't complain when it's thrown away. :)

The prices are unbelievable, a small bowl with 2 scoops one costs 2.20 euros, cream already had a bite and chocolate sauce 9.20 euros, a large cup of coffee 6.20 euros, not many can afford it

For anyone looking for relaxation, peace and seclusion!!! A wonderful place on earth!! The food in the Klosterfischer restaurant is an absolute highlight!!

The room itself was ok, the beds were comfortable, unfortunately the TV was much too small. In the bathroom there were mold stains everywhere in the shower.The outdoor area is very nice.Breakfast was quite ok.

Poor service I experienced by the hotel and Guesthouse for lunch and dinner.Not very friendly internationally as anyone speaks English to visitors who don’t speak German.About the food, we are participating in a musical course at the Kloster, and the guesthouse is in charge of providing us with food. Some people got poisoned by the food they provided the last time I came here. Now, everyone asked for vegan/vegetarian options and so little imagination/creativity for cooking vegetarian dishes.About dinner just cheese, butter, bread and ham.Breakfast: the don’t include non-dairy milk for the ones that are lactose intolerant. Is expensive for such a low level of service.

We visit the beer garden with a 1 year old child.Service friendly.A table was permanently occupied by an older, unkempt gentleman who reprimanded the guests. Example: guests are not allowed to take their suitcases with them to their seat.I was also not allowed to sit on the lawn with my 1-year-old son. It is not a lawn for sunbathing. Nobody felt harassed except this gentleman in joggers! He must have had something to say in that beer garden! Absolute impudence.

On Whit Monday we visited the monastery, which has been very well preserved. Afterwards we wanted to have a coffee in the beautiful weather. Unfortunately there were only a few tables that were already occupied. There was no option to sit inside. So unfortunately we had to look for another location. What a shame!!

Reception at the hotel was very callous. Room not ready on time, but only after dinner, without any compensation (e.g. offer of coffee after a long journey). Hotel and group catering (full board) is expensive compared to the performance, but not much behind it, e.g. only spaghetti Bolognese for lunch. There was nothing extra for vegetarians, just no meat and more vegetables. Overall, rations were very tight. Coffee at breakfast was often very thin, and there weren't enough rolls or whole grain bread. An additional small coffee in the afternoon (outside the course) was charged €3.40.Rooms are nice for the location and purpose, good beds and bathroom, good WiFi available.

Went for a coffee at the White Monk. Very nice little restaurant with nice service 👍🤗. Homemade cake 🍰 very tasty 😋
