Nice apartment, extremely good location, good connection to bus transport and good contact with the landlord. We really enjoyed our vacation.

Simple, outdated and age-worn holiday apartment with corresponding signs of wear on the substance, the furniture and the (technical) equipment. Due to its location at the upper end of Hasserode, this holiday apartment is suitable as a starting point for exploring the culture and nature of the Harz. However, our contact with the landlord ensured that we had a very special holiday experience: the rooms were kept at a comfortable temperature of 18 °C, including the bathroom. Thanks to technical monitoring, increasing the temperature caused upset. The only “customer orientation” we experienced were multiple intrusions into our privacy, including malicious comments about the children having a gastrointestinal virus or that we had eaten dinner on the road and not in the holiday apartment. Entering the holiday apartment with slippers resulted in reprimands, as did rain-soaked jackets and clothes drying during Hurricane Ignatz. You have to be hard-nosed for the treatment you experienced from this landlord - and we were obviously not a singularity -... So keep your eyes open when choosing holiday accommodation! The Harz offers many, many more suitable accommodation options.

The location is great, the apartment is fine. The only thing missing was hospitality. The landlord's terrace is located next to the bedroom of the holiday apartment. The balcony above the terrace was just being rebuilt, but the construction noise was still tolerable, although it was not addressed in advance. In addition, the radio played all day long, so there was a constant level of noise even when the window was closed. When I pointed out that it was noisy in the apartment and that you couldn't relax on the terrace and read, I was simply told that someone coming from the city couldn't complain about the noise. In the evening the radio noise was replaced by the television, which was also carried outside onto the terrace. There were also derogatory comments about the gay couple who rented the other apartment and my diet, which was probably too meatless. And when the keys were handed over, it started with reprimands, like this is where you take off your shoes, this is where the key is hung every time, etc. and hopefully you know how to separate the garbage correctly.Given the mistrust and lack of understanding that I was shown and the infantile behavior such as turning around to leave in the middle of a conversation, I was ultimately very worried about getting my deposit back. Very unpleasant, I left early.

The landlord was not very accommodating in mutual communication (I don't mean the price) and was unyielding when there were problems. Therefore according to the motto: As you shout out from the Harz, it echoes back.
