We cannot understand the negative reviews. We were originally there for 3 days and felt so comfortable that we extended it to 7 days. The atmosphere is 70s 80s and very well maintained. Ms. Lorette is very friendly and always asks if everything is okay. Breakfast is included in the price and is absolutely sufficient. If you want more, you get this. Ms. Lorette responds to breakfast requests and takes care of them.We enjoyed listening to her and talking to her.If you had a good nursery yourself, have manners and look at Mrs Lorette like your grandma, the stay is very pleasant.Her stories about her life are very interesting and when you read in the guest book (real book) who was there, respect to the lady. From diplomats to doctors and overseas students from all continents.If you are looking for a cheap overnight stay and are not an internet or TV junkie, you are in good hands here. We had a room with our own bathroom.Everything clean and well maintained. Bas' bed was comfortable but unfortunately a bit small for a giant like me. However, I have this problem in every hotel.For Ms. Lorette, the pension is a calling and not a job. She lives for her pension and considers her regular guests to be part of her family.We will definitely go to Ms. Lorette again.Thanks for the nice stay.

The guesthouse is super easy to find and just a 5 minute walk from the lake. The guesthouse is tidy and furnished with attention to detail. I arrived an hour early, but everything was already arranged and Ms. Lorette welcomed me warmly. I quickly noticed that she had her principles and her own way, but as I listened to her demands and requests, she quickly became more relaxed and we ended up sitting together for a long time with tea and cake and talking a lot. One thing is certain: she has experienced a lot and has withstood strong headwinds. She runs the guesthouse with passion. Her nature can seem intimidating to some at first, but it is important to take the time to get to know her and be open to her.

My partner and I have been there for three days now and the lady is really very nice, she even hangs our bathing clothes out to dry when we forgot. She gives us new towels every day, makes sure everything is in the right place and makes the bed. The lady who works here has years of experience in this profession and she does this job better and more lovingly than most hotels. When we go back to the guesthouse, she tells us stories about her job and her experiences, which makes an evening much more relaxing. Such a loving and honest person. She always says whatever comes to her mind. I really enjoy listening to her. My partner and I feel comfortable and we will definitely go here several times.

In 2016 I was here for a holiday in the Black Forest with my partner and family. The rooms were completely fine. We had booked with breakfast, which was always ready on time, sufficient and very tasty.Each bedroom had a sink with a mirror.There was only one toilet on the floor and it was next to the front door. The downside was the other guests rather than the toilet itself. The toilet was very small, but served its purpose.The owner of the guesthouse was always very friendly and was happy to help with hangover tips.I had a lovely time here and look back on it with a smile on my face.

I lived in Ms. Lorette's guesthouse for 7 days. This somewhat eccentric older lady has her job as her life's purpose. She maintains the guesthouse and as she gets older, fewer and fewer guests stay with her, as many as she can manage. The room was inexpensive and very clean, the breakfast was plentiful and good. You learn a lot about the life of Ms. Lorette, who loves to maintain personal contact with her guests. Since I got along well with your idiosyncratic nature, I took you into my heart full of admiration for your creativity. I would be happy to live with her again at any time. It is unique and something like this guesthouse rarely exists anymore. Thank you for everything, Ms. Lorette.

This house is absolutely not recommended. The owner is rude and insults walkers every day, especially with dogs. You can't spend a relaxing holiday here.

Absolutely not recommended!Landlady is not only cranky, but extremely rude! Makes insulting statements about her previous guests and current guests!House + room from the 70s. Toilet + shower in the hallway. Were clean. Breakfast was good. Parking space in front of the house or in the garden. Quiet location.

Laurette's pesion is a place that helped us sleep one night. The place is not expensive compared to the prices of nearby hotels. The double room was spacious and bright and very clean. The only problem in this place is Laurette herself. She is a dynamic elderly lady but does not know the meaning of hospitality. She berates her customers for anything and everything Ex: to fill out the tourist tax form, she gave me a form in German. Since I don't understand German, I passed the paper to my wife who does better than me in German and there Laurette pulls out the paper complaining that we're not in a daycare and she fills out the paper herself. even. She also pushed my elbow which I put on the table because I'm sitting wrong in her opinion. etc... I was happy to leave this pension because of this lady.

The room was promised to us at 1:00 p.m. But when we arrived, the landlady hadn't even finished cleaning. We agreed that we would then go to the village first and come back in 2 hours. At around 3:30 p.m. we were back at the guesthouse and the landlady showed us the rooms, although not all the beds were still made up. She also behaved like a pet dragon. The children (two couples with one child each) were immediately a thorn in her side and she immediately began to discipline us at every step and step in the house (both children and adults). We then left the Pension Lorette immediately, as we immediately felt unwanted and a nuisance rather than welcome guests. Never again, not even just for one night.

I agree with all the negative reviews in the common forums. My partner and I spontaneously requested a room for an overnight stay over the phone, which was promised to us by the owner. We arrived 30 minutes after the phone call, spent 10 minutes in this house and then suddenly fled. We preferred to accept the threat of spending the night in the car. The behavior of the landlady is indescribable. If you want to take home a story worth telling, we recommend a visit to this questionable “guest(!)” house.To all other desperate people looking for a room, I highly recommend the motorway service station “Rastanlagen im Hegau” near Engen. Top breakfast buffet and everything else was good.

10 minute walk from the train station. Madam Lorette is friendly, if somewhat eccentric, and offers nicely furnished rooms at a low price. The grounds are lovely, the hedges trimmed by Lorette herself. Lots of birds around. She serves a classic German breakfast of bread & butter, cheese, cucumber, coffee and tea, and three kinds of meat including Black Forest ham. Following this she gave us shots of schnapps, asked us to sign her guest book, and wished us a fond journey, all before our 10:00 am train out of town. Highly recommended for those who don't want or expect concierge-type service.
