I have stayed here several times over the last 12 months. This is how I got to know the different room categories. My recommendation: Always book the castle rooms - these only cost a little more, but offer a lot more comfort and the look and feel of a castle hotel. The rooms with free-standing bathtubs are the nicest. The breakfast service deserves special praise.

Overall, the hotel didn't convince me. The location is nice and the dinner is very good, which is exclusively organic. My single room was NOT CLEAN upon arrival!! Urine on the toilet seat, hair in the bed,…When I pointed this out to the staff, the room was cleaned again, but I was not compensated! The rooms are very noisy and the breakfast buffet was also rather disappointing with a limited selection.I would have hoped for much more from an organic castle hotel!

Organic hotel in a very nice location. Spacious room with very comfortable bed, modern shower. Quiet at night. Beautiful view. There is a separate, cordoned-off storage area for bicycles. Cool drinks were served in the afternoon in the associated café with a beer garden atmosphere. We also had dinner there in the evening. Very tasty organic food. In the morning there was breakfast in the café with very fine organic food. No packaged food. Small alleys around the castle invite you to take a stroll. You can go hiking on the Jagst. A lovely stay in a relaxed atmosphere.

Very nice location right in the old town. Parking spaces are signposted and sufficient at no extra charge. The view from the room was also great. But you have to be aware that this is an old castle, and the rooms are designed accordingly. The floor groans with every step, the windows are hardly soundproof and you practically fall straight into the shower from the entrance door.We were there for a conference and the food was great. Starting with breakfast (cappuccino is welcome, no extra charge), through the coffee breaks with fully automatic machines and small delicacies and fruit, to lunch and dinner, everything was very good.

Location very nicely located with a great view from the room, especially if you look to the northeast.Service: the wrong food and tea were delivered to us at dinner, communication was a bit complex due to a lack of language skills. The table was also only rudimentarily cleared between the starter and the main course. Unfortunately it was not possible to get a receipt for the meal and we were also charged twice for a meal, which we were lucky to notice. The quality and taste of the dinner was still very good! The breakfast selection was good, the fruit salad was very tasty, but the rolls were far too dry.The next morning at checkout we had to wait quite some time as no one was available. The office was open and the computer was not locked, so the customer would have had access to all data.Rooms: the rooms were nicely furnished, only the bathroom/toilet directly in the entrance area without a door takes more getting used to (really). The rooms weren't heated either, so maybe turn the heating up a little before the customers come.

We would be accommodated here for work, it's the worst thing I've experienced in 7 years of assembly, old, worn-out rooms, heating can't be regulated, doors with key locks, no TV in the single room. Toilet and shower open without partition. When you come out of the shower, you have 40 cm to the wall. Sink in the bedroom. Then breakfast came. Patience is required here, there are no plates, you can eat over the bare table top. You lovely people! Not for this price. 30 euros a night would be appropriate. Conclusion: Really underground.

Outrageous process: Booking confirmation for the princely suite from October 13th - 15th, 2023 was made with "hospitable greetings" (2 x €277) on June 10th this year. …

Wonderful rooms with great views. Great location of the hotel. The two stars for service does not refer to Ms. Schmidt at the reception or other employees. Everything was very friendly and accommodating. What was really incomprehensible was the fact that the electric car charging stations were occupied by a car that sat there at an angle for days. Normal petrol engine!!!! When we asked a gentleman in the management about it because we wanted to charge our electric car, he was told that there was nothing they could do and that it was beyond his authority. However, he knows who that is. It is well known in the castle who occupies this place purely for convenience. Nobody says anything??? As guests for years, we had no chance. This in an eco/bio hotel???? We would be very happy if something like this could be remedied in a hotel with an ecological focus.

Great castle, beautiful location. Unfortunately, the hotel is pretty bad and is run unprofessionally, which you can feel in many places. So the price is way too high. My room had a new bed and new floor but an unappealing bathroom with very old tiles, a plastic curtain directly on the toilet and an unsavory drain. Probably original from the times when the castle was a nursing home. You receive a bottle of water and two glasses in your room, which, if empty, are neither taken away nor renewed by room service. The door squeaked obtrusively, which was greeted with a smile by the receptionist. The lock was stuck and so we couldn't lock it from the inside. Signposts to the "sun terrace" arouse anticipation, but the path then leads past an open junk room under a power cable with a construction site holder to only a few old benches, some of which are dilapidated and really without any charm. The breakfast buffet is announced as delicious and is then a bitter disappointment. Although organic, there is little selection, no labels on the products. An old fruit salad, probably from the day before, with brownish (!) pieces of fruit. Hard-boiled, cold breakfast eggs. Cereals that have become soft, probably because there is little demand. Overall, not much choice. Small cutlery basket at the buffet in which everyone rummages around for suitable cutlery - unappetizing! Service staff a bit helpless when asked (e.g. small spoons were missing, the cups were out and we would have liked cocoa powder). Tables for normal guests were not set, seemed unfriendly and somehow put together. In the middle of the hall, however, there are two beautiful, long tables that were probably prepared for groups but were not used. On the second morning, students who were probably attending a music seminar suddenly start practicing loudly and intrusively with their instruments in the breakfast room!! Unbelievable. Overall, there were few other guests to be seen, some with unhappy faces and complaints at reception. Not a good experience, we won't be coming back.

Room does not correspond to the bookingThe hotel has a great website with photos of the different rooms. We booked a room “Adlerhorst”. Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of the booking. We were confirmed a room with a view. The room we got (No 3 in the Farmers' House) is on the ground floor and has a view of a piece of forest. Clean but very Spartan furnishings. Smallest bathroom, no closet - very disappointing. We were here for the first and last time...
