A quaint little hotel in the immediate vicinity of the St. Kilians distillery. I booked the room and reserved a table for dinner. Everything worked smoothly, everyone was super nice and the food was absolutely delicious, value for money was absolutely great. It's very unfortunate that the hotel has to close due to a lack of staff, but in conjunction with the guided tours at St. Kilian, it's an absolute insider tip. Also the sausage that I picked up from the in-house butcher shop... sooooo delicious... I would be happy if it could continue to exist.

A culinary gem, near Miltenberg in the Odenwald. At the weekend we visited this beautifully located inn and butcher shop in Rüdenau near Miltenberg due to the very good reviews in Trip Advisor and on Google. Tasty regional cuisine at a top quality level really still exists, although rarely. After consulting with the friendly, competent service staff, I chose the Franconian sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings; My companion chose a Jägerschnitzel with salad and croquettes. When both dishes were served, we were very positively surprised by the presentation and way the dishes were served. After the first bite of the very well braised sauerbraten, I was surprised by a truly unique treat of a hand-cooked red wine sauce, which is unparalleled in this day and age. Super 😋 delicious.!!! The red cabbage was also excellently prepared, as were the fresh silk potato dumplings. The praline of dried dried fruit rounded off the excellent taste of this very well prepared dish by a master at the stove. Really highly recommended!!! The Jägerschnitzel was also fried golden brown in the pan, the Jäger sauce with fresh mushrooms was well cooked and the salad served with it was fresh and prepared with a delicious 😋 vinegar herb oil dressing. The croquettes rounded off this regional dish very well. Note that the croquettes were reordered instead of French fries, which cost an extra euro. For drinks I had an 🍎 apple spritzer, my companion was a non-alcoholic shandy with beer from the regional Faust brewery, which were well chilled and served cleanly. Overall, we can recommend this really, really good, somewhat remote, top regional restaurant to everyone with a clear conscience!!! Since we saw guests at the other table eating a rump steak with onions and were very satisfied, this dish was certainly prepared very well. Trust all the good reviews for this restaurant, the chef and his crew will surely always give their best in cuisines and service quality. Thank you for this very tasty lunch.

Spent a night at Stern and ate there. It's a little strange there, but basically everything is great. Everyone in service was friendly. Especially when eating. Our room was clean and quiet. The bathroom is small and functional. There were many in the house that we also saw on our St. Kilian tour. Food in the restaurant was good and plentiful. Breakfast not huge but sufficient. It's a shame we couldn't go to the butcher shop.

Idyllic restaurant in the middle of Rüdenau's town center. I think you can eat very well there, the pike perch with Silvaner sauce but also the cream soups and salads were excellent. Tartar from our own butcher's shop and also the espresso with vanilla ice cream are recommended.We'd love to come back

This is the most unfriendly and disappointing hotel that we have stayed in, in the last two years.?There was one friendly and lovely lady, I believe she may of been the mother.She was amazing, But the Boss and Cook and the other two ladies just destroyed our stay. Arrogant and stroppy and clearly don’t enjoy their jobs and have absolutely no clue about Customer Centricity.Don’t make the mistake we did and stay here. 🙅♂️

This is how it should taste. A country inn with its own butcher shop. You always eat well here and dishes like tartare and rump steak are highly recommended. Thank you for the good food.

If you want to visit the St. Kilian distillery, the Stern is the perfect place for you. The distillery can be reached on foot in 5 minutes. At the same time, this country guest hotel is very friendly with beautiful and inexpensive rooms. The food is great! And the attached butcher shop and especially the unusual, homemade jams are also worth highlighting.

Had dinner there for the second time with a larger group. Always leave the restaurant as very satisfied guests. This time there were two particularly happy people because we were served the excellent tartare in the evening.We received friendly and quick service and were happy to respond to small requests and changes to side dishes.Great local cuisine. Good value for money.

Last weekend the three of us stayed at the “Stern” for two nights as part of a distillery tour. We arrived late, but were greeted warmly and friendly and treated to a fantastic dinner. This first good impression was confirmed the next day. The food was again delicious, you really feel welcome. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back at the next opportunity!

We went for a whiskey tasting at St. Kilian in Rüdenau and stayed at Stern for two nights.It was a great weekend with good food, whiskey and great service.Anyone visiting St. Kilian should definitely reserve a room at Stern and eat there. It is worth it!
