Very cozy restaurant with an open fireplace. Ate very tasty. Super friendly service.

Only the restaurant is rated here!Price/performance poorWhy?Let's first talk about the positive:- friendly staff, although mercilessly overwhelmed- Very large portions- The fried potatoes were goodNow let's get to the negative:- The food tasted bad. The pepper schnitzel tasted more like a sweet cheese sauce than the cheese spaetzle- The side salad consisted of 80% industrial cabbage/carrot salad and was just swimming in the dressing.- The spaetzle tasted like “open the bag, bake and serve”- Every chip shop does a better job with the children's plate.- In terms of price, that's a joke. We paid over €70 for this “quality”.- The highlight was (unfortunately only noticed at home) that “the greeting from the kitchen” (slices of toast with tzatziki) was charged at €0.50 per person. What's important to me here is not the €0.50, but rather that this is either free of charge or cleverly covered by the other costsWe definitely won't come back and can't recommend the restaurant.

The first evening the food and service were quite good. But folding napkins is not as important as giving customers a drink or the bill. The second evening the restaurant was a success. Poor service with few customers and long waits. Too much salt and little flavor. Even after the 1st glass the white wine was gone. And not just with us, the rosé was also there. Would you like a "Schnäpchen" as a make-up? Ha ha, ahem

We spontaneously went on holiday to eat at the Dorfkrug. I don't know the last time I ate so well. Extremely delicious. Big praise to the chef!!! Service also really friendly.

We were there for dinner on the second day of Christmas. Everything was fine until the food came. Pepper schnitzel in a sauce that looked like a soup and tasted very sour. Mayonnaise was brought in packets like at McDonald's. When we asked what was wrong with the sauce, the chef told us that it was the pepperoni.Never again.

I have visited the restaurant several times in the last few years. Yesterday 12/01/23 again. Always incredibly good! Yesterday sauerbraten with raisins buttery soft, red cabbage with cloves, dumplings great! Mushroom schnitzel also perfect!! Side salad and tip: König-Ludwig-Dark beer on tap. Everything was super clean... I would love to come back.

Hotel: Large rooms, clean. Unfortunately, no more investment is being made, as if the hotel were about to close. Be careful with the dilapidated planks on the upper terrace. Quiet location in the village, nearby there is a water wheel, a beautiful park and the start of the Nuhne. Good bus connection to Winterberg.Restaurant: It was lousy cold and the locals avoid this place. There was only one other table occupied by hotel guests in the large dining room on Friday evening. The comment that we were freezing was met with the comment “the boss refuses to heat up”. So get jackets and sit in the restaurant with them, exciting. The service was friendly and the food was really delicious. Unfortunately the menu was canceled and a different type of beer was sold out on both days. Card payment possible. Breakfast and coffee selection good.Prices are high for this service.

We were only there to eat, I can't say anything about the hotel.The restaurant is furnished in a very cozy, rustic style. Service was very nice and attentive. We had to wait a bit for the food but that was completely OK. It's still freshly prepared. There are some game dishes and I can really recommend them. My wife had the spit roast and it could have used a little more seasoning. But it's also a matter of taste. Not cheap but in the normal range.

Very nice owners, I liked everything, breakfast was ok,except...Our room had a cold radiator in the bedroom😶. The pillows were small and uncomfortable. It would be nice to have a shower dispenser and liquid soap
