Many thanks to Elaine and Rogier for the lovely stay in their B&B. We stayed in the yellow room on the hottest days in August (over 30°C) and we were able to sleep very well with the window open and the fan on. The walk across the hallway to the bathroom didn't bother us, it's only one step from one door to the next and we used the bathrobes from the B&B. The breakfast was very nice, we had fresh eggs and the coffee had just been made when we came down. The selection of toppings, cereals and other things was also good. The fridge was always stocked with a nice selection of cold drinks that you could just grab and write down on your room card, which was always great after the hikes to enjoy a cold drink or coffee outside by the lake or on the terrace. Coffee and tea were available free of charge. We went on beautiful hikes through the High Fens and the surrounding area. The accommodation had recommendations in different languages and Rogier also had good tips.If you like to enjoy a whiskey, Rogier is the right place for you.A great starting point for various hikes and for switching off and resting. We really enjoyed the 5 days.

I'll try to be factual: the yellow room has its own bathroom, BUT you have to go through the common hallway (this isn't on the website). Yes, the view from the arched window is nice, BUT you have to sit on the floor to enjoy it. The room cannot be locked! Plus it's dark so you can't use the lighting. The room gets very warm in summer, only a small skylight to open. The air conditioner is loud at an adequate cooling level and sleep is out of the question. Sleep: due to a nearby neighbor's party (according to the owner, an annual three-day party), thumping techno music and loud conversation until late at night, and things continued the next morning. Recovery was out of the question for us. Breakfast: cold scrambled eggs, dry croissants, rolls/bread, well. When we came to breakfast at 9:30 a.m. there was a thermos of coffee on the table (how old, I have no idea). If I had known these three things: hallway to the bathroom, room not lockable, only a small window to open before booking, I wouldn't have booked.I would like to see more honesty on the website.

Friendly owners; nice, clean rooms; delicious breakfast (also gluten and lactose free available on request); cozy common area with the option to buy snacks or drinks at reasonable prices.Beautiful walks depart from the B&B.Highly recommended! We would love to come back someday.

We spent a wonderful weekend with Rogier and Elaine. The entire B&B is very lovingly and comfortably furnished. We stayed in the pink room. It's at the top and you have the "small floor" all to yourself :-)You can feel the attention to detail and feel completely comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and nothing was missing.Coffee & tea are free. There is a great selection of other drinks, sweets and snacks available at incredibly fair prices. The B&B is in a great location for going on hikes. There is a lot of information material in the communal living room.We can only warmly recommend “La petite roer”!
