What a lovely stay at this wonderful town and this beautiful hotel.Perfect location, at the central heart of the town, from the window you can look at the beautiful houses and river, with the green Black Forest in the distance.The owner is such a friendly and helpful person, he greeted me whenever we met and was always happy to help with anything that he could. He also recommended me a lovely little hike of the Kirchberg trail next to the town, which provides me the first taste of the tranquility of the one and only Black Forest area.The room was small, but goes with everything that I needed. Clean, organized, beautifully decorated with just the right amount of personal touch. The night was cool so even though no fan or air conditioner, it felt still very comfortable.Highly recommend if you are a solo traveler and at the same time look for a comfy, budget-friendly place to spend your few days in this quiet, magical town.Mia

Never had a meal as bad as today and it was so overpriced. 0.2l drink was €4 which was put out and 0.4l was €4.50. When a complaint was made, they didn't even respond and collect the money.

Everything is getting old overall. Dark in the dining room through the colored windows.Food: limited selection, the goulash soup was lukewarm, the bread wasn't completely thawed yet.Booked a flat rate overnight stay including breakfast.Breakfast was clear. Breakfast cost EUR 16.00 per person. The second coffee is another EUR 3.50.There is a bakery almost right next door. Can only recommend having breakfast there.Overall I felt very uncomfortable in the house. Another night in the house is out of the question for me.

The kindness and friendliness of the owner Michael is certainly the strong point of this structure.Parking can be found on the main road or look for it in the streets around there.The structure is in an excellent position, right in front of the river where the place also has a small terrace with tables but I think the food/drink part will close soon.Rooms a little dated with a small staircase to get to the floors, be careful with large bags!

This is a great place to stay if you're looking to be based in the heart of Schiltach in a homely, informal setting.Michael is a warm, friendly host and makes you feel immediately welcomed. Where other hosts/hotels might have more specific guidance e.g about other services available, Michael will simply respond to your requests as best he can to ensure your stay is comfortable, so be confident to just ask for what you need.A small dinner menu is available with meals cooked to order by Michael. A wholesome breakfast spread can be provided at a reasonable extra charge. We enjoyed beginning each day with fresh rolls, cheese,hams, boiled egg etc.Our room was clean, spacious and met our modest needs. A kettle in the room would be a helpful extra for making tea / coffee, but wasn't missed as we were typically outside enjoying the view of the river from Michael's terrace with a nice local beer in the evening. The room rates are appropriately modest, reflecting the available facilities etc.This is the perfect base for local hikes. Train and bus trips are easy to navigate and help non-car drivers explore nearby towns. Local museums, cafes and restaurants were all really good and everyone was very friendly.A relaxing stay which we were sad came to an end.

We selected this on account of the TripAdvisor rating. What we failed to do is to check out the age of TripAdvisor reviews. It turned out to be run down, not very clean, threadbare towels. The|Only positive aspect is the location. The town of Schiltach is a real gem.

Michael has been very hospitable, loving and happy with us. He was waiting for us with the rooms ready and even prepared dinner for us when everything was closed. Very delicious food, delicious desserts and very good local beer.Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Here you can get the best onion roast in Germany, or oh my, in the world! The other dishes are also very tasty. Say my wife. I'll stick with the onion roast :) I recommend fried potatoes with it. Not on the menu, but served upon request.The innkeeper, Mr. Mogler, is very nice and accommodating. Always on the go and ready to implement wishes immediately. The hotel is rustic. You have to like that or you shouldn't be bothered by it. If you like it rustic and cozy, you will like the old bridge. There is also something to eat for guests after the regular time. The location is fantastic. There is a beer garden on the river bank where you can also eat. And everything else in the city is within walking distance.

9.50 for currywurst with fries without getting full is too much.. Fries were ok.. Sausage just fine and the nice old-fashioned ambience not heated (in November). Not full and frozen. Once and never again

A lovely restaurent in Shciltach.The owner was so kind and it was great that he speaks fluent english.We ordered the local saussage with fries as well as gulasch soup and salad and all dishes were just great. For dessert i ordered the apple strudel which came out warm and fresh.Excellent choice for lunch!

I can't remember ever having food that was so bad and completely overpriced. 2 x nasty schnitzel with fries, 2 x salad with a rancid aftertaste and 2 x Aldi drinks for a total of €50! That's just outrageous. 1 star is one too many. I'll never eat here again!
