Great rooms, but so outdated. It really was like walking into another era when you walked into this hotel. The location is fine, but there are much nicer places in the area. In Laufeld itself you have nothing at all, not even a supermarket. We were the only ones in the hotel because of the low season and had to open the front door ourselves with the key. Unfortunately the sauna was also closed. The owner made us a delicious breakfast in the morning! There was also plenty of room for parking. All in all, we had a great experience, there were no flaws. But for this price (not necessarily dirt cheap), you would expect a slightly more modern hotel.

Good parking on the side and back. Beautiful woodwork and spacious layout of the hotel and rooms. Breakfast was fine but a bit basic. Liked it well enough to go back when we're in the area again.

We were warmly welcomed. The hotel is a little old, but the bare necessities are there. But I wouldn't vacation here with the family. Breakfast was rich, coffee from the fully automatic machine was great.

We ended up here for a weekend because the hotel we had originally planned only had free time for one night. So we had to find something else for the second night. So we ended up here at short notice.To the hotel and restaurantThe reception was very friendly. The view of the hotel from the outside gives rise to a certain expectation of what it might look like inside. However, the reception area suddenly dampened this expectation. The lady at reception was very friendly. The rooms all have a sheep theme, reflecting the sheep that live at the hotel. Nicely done. The room itself, especially the bathroom, is quite shabby. You can see that something has been repaired here and there, but it actually needs to be gutted and renovated. Still, it's clean and hey... given the price, compared to other hotels, you have to leave the church in the village. I have to confirm the toilet, it is incredibly deep. When I sat on it at 1.91m, my knees almost hung on my ears without arching my back. The restaurant is quite okay. There wasn't a lot of choice, which I actually see as an advantage, but we both found something and it was quite tasty. I can't say how long the menu with the food on offer was valid because we were only there for one day. However, if you stay there for several days or a week, the choice is a bit thin and you probably often eat the same thing. There is probably no fixed menu, according to the waitress. The boss herself is the cook in the house. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. We were surprised that it was written thickly on the menu that any changes to the dishes would be subject to a €3.50 surcharge. We didn't have any requests for changes, so I can't say whether you'll pay for this if, for example, you want fries instead of croquettes.The breakfastTo get to the breakfast room, you walk through the restaurant. The room seems to have been planned for events. The room has more of a canteen feel and doesn't exactly encourage people to linger. The breakfast is practical, with a small selection of ready-made products and packaged cold cuts. You find something and period.VicinityThere's nothing in town! So if you want to do some sightseeing here, you just walk through the village without a business mile. There is a church in the village. The next hiking route is also a bit away, but it's worth starting. You shouldn't give up after just 3-4km, but plan for more.A few years ago you would probably have said it was a typical rocker hotel with a rocker bar. But I know from my circle of acquaintances that motorcycle groups now also prefer a certain standard, even prefer to pay a little more and avoid rocky places.

I can only confirm what the other reviews write: Rooms very spartan, old and in need of renovation (room 24 single rooms). The bathroom is so small that a man of normal weight cannot turn around. I could have washed my hair while sitting on the toilet... :-)The restaurant is decorated in Alpine style with lots of wood. Doesn't suit the beautiful Eifel. Food was good, but the coffee at breakfast was a colored water.You can endure a day or two, but longer is not recommended.
