Great stay in the mountains! We had the holiday apartment. This is very spacious and very comfortably furnished. The bathroom has been renovated and is very nicely designed. The living and dining area offers nice seating areas for reading or relaxing. The view from the seating area over the Schönau valley is wonderful. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for everyday life (oven, stove, kettle, fridge with freezer, egg cooker...). The outdoor area is also beautifully designed. Loungers for sunbathing, a hanging swing and a large seating area with a view of the valley. The fresh mountain air in the morning ensures that you are wide awake.All guests can book breakfast for 10 euros. Since we had the holiday apartment, we catered for ourselves and only used the bread roll service. We could simply write a note with the rolls we wanted and they would be hanging on our door in the morning! Simply great!The landlords Andrea and Christian are very warm and nice and gave us good tips for excursions. We felt very comfortable!The guesthouse is about 40 minutes walk from Königsee and 60 minutes walk from the center of Berchtesgaden. A bus (Limie 841 via Alpenhof) runs four times a day in both directions and can be used free of charge with the guest card.

Amazing! We had the most wonderful time and the hosts were lovely. First morning we must have looked absolutely shattered after our 24 hrs drive and she brought us a huge thermos bottle with coffee saying we looked like we needed it!Booking:Let's start first, booking was easy and the price is more than reasonable for the area and in the middle of holiday season.Flat:We had the holiday flat with wrap around balcony the views are brilliant and we enjoyed watching the summer thunderstorms from the balcony at night. The bathroom is so nice, and all the furniture, decorations and little details makes everything feel homely and warm. It was super clean and well appointed.Food:The breakfast was great, I saw someone complaining about it in the comments so was a bit worried, but it was lovely, fresh fruitsalad or veggies, breadrolls, plenty of butter, juice, yoghurts, muesli, jams etc. It's not a huge buffet of course as this is a small pension. We had breakfast twice and due to me being unwell and not wanting to pass on bugs to fellow holiday makers ordered the breakfast rolls. It is so nice to wake up in the morning with fresh breadrolls waiting.There are many food places around and a couple of supermarkets to stock up when you have the holiday flat.Hosts:Hosts were friendly, helpful, chatty but left us to our own devices. Location:It is so well situated even if you don't want to use a car, the Jennerbahn is only about 15-20 min walk, half an hour to Malerwinkel, at the Jennerbahn there is an e-mountainbike hire place, and there are a ton of hikes accessible right from the pension. There is a local bus free to use with the Kurkarte. With car most of the things we wanted to see were within 5-15 min drive (Amselbach Klamm, Salt Mines, Eagles Nest etc) and an easy 1 hour drive to Austria to see Burg Werfen (Call of Duty gamers will know!) and the Ice Caves.Thank you and we hope to be able to visit again at some point!
