The hotel is perfectly located right on the edge of the city center, so that the pedestrian zone is only a traffic light away. There is a free parking lot behind the house for hotel guests that is easy to reach. The theater (cinema) right next to the house and a billiard cafe right next to it. In the house itself, the romantic wooden staircase meets modern technology with access cards for the night entrance and the rooms. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The highlight, however, was the breakfast buffet. The friendly welcome from the housekeeper in the morning with the offer of freshly prepared scrambled eggs and the good selection were really great. Thank you very much 😀

We celebrated our son's graduation party here. The location stopped sometime in the 70s, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since the celebration was planned for a long time with around 200 registered people, it is at least assumed that appropriate personnel planning should have taken place. Far from it. The service consisted of 4 people who, in addition to the planned table service, were also supposed to serve the drinks bar. The staff was overwhelmed pretty quickly. Some guests helped clear up. The bar was unsorted. Drinks had to be found first. There were no uniform glasses. Everything seemed unstructured and confused. The buffet was, I apologize for my language, below all... Even before the opening you could feel a strong smell of spices ála Maggi. The food was boring, sour and tasted musty. In addition, there was not enough front and back. It wasn't refilled. Anyone who came late had to eat leftovers. Only after 30-45 minutes was there another portion of fries and rice. At some point a bowl of fried, frozen ready-made meatballs was delivered. However, these were inedible. Apparently there was only one person in charge of the kitchen. It's a real shame because we also paid a pretty hefty price for that evening. We are glad that the teenagers were still able to enjoy this evening thanks to the good DJ from oBEX, even though the style of music was not to my taste. But that's okay for me, after all it was a kids' party.I don't want to say anything about the toilets, the hygiene there and the lack of towels, except that some German train station toilets are often cleaner.Summary: Party top, location and service an absolute flop. Simply not recommended!

We had a class farewell party. There were 4 people for about 200 people there for us. 2 Very nice counter staff who also had to clear the dishes. 1 older, fragile-looking cook. 1 young man with no apparent job.We have never! ate so bad. No spices, it tasted and looked like any leftovers from the chest! It should be a buffet. Everyone could have a turn, then the few pressed schnitzels and wobbly thighs were gone. After about 30 minutes, the last finished meatballs were served darkly fried. Unfortunately, this made us sick and we had to leave sooner. There was also a bedside table that no one wanted to touch anymore. It's a shame that this hotel hasn't been closed by the health department long ago! Unfortunately the boss wasn't there.

We were guests at a prom at the location in question. It started at the entrance: withered, overgrown flower pots. Weeds and shabby facade.Inventory is getting old. In need of renovation! But the icing on the cake was the food that was served too late.Subterraneanly bad, not seasoned, the cheapest of the cheap.Potatoes in cucumber and tomato salad. And tomato mozzarella topped with iceberg lettuce to make it look more impressive.Tasteless and bland. Seasoning at the table was made difficult by solid, dried salt in the shaker. The food was quickly empty, as were the plates. The chef and service couldn't keep up.As a stopgap there was fried chopped sausage. Which no one ate anymore because it was almost burned. The rolls were rock hard. The vegetable ragout tasted rancid. My body refused to eat it anymore.Tetra pack vanilla sauce and buckets of red jelly rounded off the discounter meal in a negative sense...The service tried to keep the mood up, but was visibly overwhelmed. And must have received some criticism from the boss too!?We had to wait 15 minutes at the bar for the beer. Too few staff for the operation. Also uncoordinated...I didn't know that smoking behind the counter was allowed during working hours?!Overall a disaster! And plamable! We looked into the hotel restaurant on the way to the toilets, tasteless old!Value for money is outrageous, the graduating class would have to ask for their money back for an evening like this!In any case, the students were ashamed of inviting us there.

We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary there in September 2023 and were very satisfied with the service. The food was very tasty and sufficient. The service was always very courteous. And the decoration was great too. The location on the pedestrian zone of Osterholz-Scharmbeck is great. Several restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

It can be old, but the mattresses are dirty and sagging. Worst night I've ever experienced.
