This review is for the restaurant only. Hotel & Gasthof Tannenmühle offers a charming farm-like ambiance with plenty of animals for the kids to enjoy and a small outdoor playground. Inside, the restaurant boasts typical German decor. Their specialty, trout, shines in both grilled and pan-fried options, impressing even the younger diners. While I didn’t delve deeply into the wine list, the house Riesling proved to be a pleasant choice. Service was ok, as some waiters could be friendlier. Overall, it’s a delightful spot for families, offering fresh, well-prepared dishes amidst a cozy setting.

I had dinner here and it was pretty solid. The fish is very fresh but overall the food is under seasoned. A bit on the pricier side but certainly high quality. I do wish the lemon on the dish was cut smaller instead of big chunks which were a bit overpowering.

Location is super nice, especially with kids. So many cute animals. The atmosphere is super nice outside, unfortunately the food was average. Especially for being specialized on Forelle. The fish tasted very bland. Did not like it. But otherwise it’s a cute place

This is a hidden gem of absolute yummyness! Tugged away in a side valley of the “Hochschwarzwald” this is a must experience place if you are within 30-40 miles. They have a large ( and always booked out) restaurant, they have their own deer and fish farm. The trout dishes ( unusual it is variety) is unique. Very cozy atmosphere. Solid wine list - stick with the European - especially local wines. The new world offerings are not special. Best of all, the regional and European wines by the bottle are not expensive. The place is GREAT for children with a large playground outside. Restaurant also features a big outdoor patio. Good professional service. Next door is a museum (also belongs to the restaurant). That is ideal to spend time if you need to wait for a table. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended- which you can do online (somewhat unusual in the Black Forest).

Wow, this is an excellent restaurant. The variety is not large but every dish we tried was very delicious. We had the whole trout, breaded trout, angus steak, breaded turkey, salad, goulash soup . All were excellent. The turkey and the trout are probably the best I've ever tasted. Even the french fries were excellent.

We came here with our kids (6 and 8) on recommendation of the nearby Pension Kramer. What an amazing place! A beautiful setting with trout ponds, aviary, goats, rabbits and more. Plus the best ever playground. …

Been here two years ago and came back for more. The prices are a bit high but the food is great. You should try the smoked fish soup, the dish is small but the taste is something else. The staff is nice and helpful. There is a nice playground for kids and domestic animals kids can interact with.

For us, and in some respects, the closest thing to going home as you can when far from home. Homely feel to Hotel, Restaurant and surrounding area with excellent service all round. Many things for kids to do and see, including the multitude of animals, not to mention the deer.Well worth an overnight or visit for food. Genuine care and attention all round. Excellent menu, high quality dishes and as said prior, the best aspect is really a feeling of being at home..
