This was an outstanding experience in an authentic castle. It has outstanding furniture and decorations. The people running the place are extremely friendly, Herr Nickenig and Anna. The included breakfast was excellent.  …

This is a very small castle very high above the Rhine with rooms and a restaurant. The public rooms are nice, with lots of armor on display in order to remind you that you are in a castle! …

Really good location with a fantastic high view over the Rhine. Good food and service for everything fantastic with a personal care and touch.Remote positive and quiet, romantic, but struggled to get a taxi too and from the hotel.Rooms quite dated, bed hard and creaked (stayed in other castles which were much better) which impacted sleep and overall experience. However, 4 star and worth visiting.

This was a very unique experience! How often does one spend the night in a real castle? The Castle Suite we stayed in is not a luxury hotel, but a quaint suite atop a CASTLE looking over the Rhein and the neighboring castle. Hannah and the castle's owner took good care of us. The unexpected treat of our 2 night stay were the dinners we had. We choose the half board for the first night and the romantic dinner the last night. Honestly the best meals we have had on our 20 day trip to Greece and Germany. Florian the chef created consistently superb courses throughout each dinner. Definitely worth a drive from the town just for dinner.

Twenty years ago my wife and I stayed overnight at the castle. We returned in June with our daughter and an aunt as we trekked through Europe. Nothing has changed. And that is good. The food is terrific. …

Had a great stay! Smaller, but lovely rooms. Brilliant family run hotel. A family who cares about individuals. Delicious restaurant food. View is incredible. Had some ATM troubles and owners were very helpful to us while it all got sorted! Was very pleased to be able to have a chance to stay in a castle here. They even were able to store our bicycles in a secure location during our stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights when we were on the Rhine. The rooms were comfortable and well-decorated to match the castle ambience; the main dining room was particularly impressive. …

Beautiful spot on the Rheinsteig path. Amazing castle, that feels like it has ghosts. Incredible views. Rooms were super quirky, with castle furniture, sloping floors, accessed by tiny staircases. Great nights sleep thanks to quiet and peaceful, with nice breeze. Good food. And suits of armour!

We stayed here for a night in late May (2023) while driving up the Rhine. Great experience! Great room overlooking the river and the owners have explicitly appointed the castle to make it feel like you’re staying in a castle (but with modern comforts). Service was excellent. Definitely recommend
