Preferably 0/5 stars! The landlady told us on the day of departure that she had to double the prices. Instead of €19 as stated on the current website, she suddenly wanted €40 per night. With the justification that she couldn't ask for so little more and that she had already told us in advance that it would be twice the price, which wasn't the case!In addition, the rooms are hardly cleaned and it smells musty. We found moldy leftover food and worn, smelly clothes in the nightstand, apparently from a customer in front of us.P.S. Adjusting prices would be a good option, thank you never again 🤦‍♂️

NOT recommended! The "pension" is easy to find, a former inn, when you arrive everything looks very cozy, beautifully decorated. You are welcomed by an older lady who is friendly and welcoming. The question about breakfast was answered in the negative (although it is offered on the website) and the answer could be understood to mean that it was too stressful. You are shown the room, then the lady has already disappeared... NO indication of the defective ventilation in the windowless bathroom/toilet, the water from the tap is wondering whether it should flow or not, the toilet has been open for a very long time We haven't had any cleaning in a while, the decorative arrangement in the corner of the bathroom has been busy collecting a lot of dust, the shower is designed for users up to 160cm (thanks to the sloping ceiling), otherwise the bathroom smelled of strong cleaner. The access to the bathroom is a folding door that doesn't close because it's too big and the lock is broken. Now to the "living area", the mattresses are surprisingly good, the pillows have already had a very long pillow life, it's more for people who love a stiff neck. Now for the HIGHLIGHT!!!!! - you might want to put the utensils you brought with you in the bedside table, after opening it you found a plastic bag with wet socks that had apparently been lying there for a long time, right next to it was an open, half-full can of potato salad (you couldn't see it anymore because of the mold, but that was the case). The print gave it away), you could also find a pack of sliced cheese there!! (Everything was really DELICIOUS!!) At night, an automatic wake-up service is activated by the friendly, loud squeaking of the bed. The positive thing was that the heating worked. On the day of departure you were prepared for the rental price to be paid and took the money in your hand, BUT the nice older lady asked for DOUBLE!!!! (she can no longer “take” 19 euros, according to her statement)When I was told that 19 euros per night was advertised on her own website, the answer was that she had told me so. No other price was given to me when I booked or upon arrival - for me this is and was a scam!It was a very, very big disappointment to have booked and stayed there! You can certainly find reputable, guest-conscious, clean, functioning and HONEST accommodations and providers in the area for the same money that you dubiously pay dearly afterwards!"to the Chancellor" - dismissed!

The garden and the garden house at the back are nice and clean. However, the rooms there smell (musty, chemical, disgusting) even after days of being aired out. All things then took on this smell. Only the bedroom can be heated. (not so great at 16°C) Only one program can be received on the television, no internet and the stove is switched off and cannot be used. That's why I left early, paid in cash and, despite emailing several times, still haven't received an invoice. I wouldn't go there again.

The complex has a thoughtful and uniquely decorated garden with many benches where you can find a different perspective on it and your life every day. Chancellor draws strength from the garden because that is what we need in increasingly virtual times. I fondly remember the conversations with the helpful hostess and owner of this place.

We spent a family weekend in and around Friesau. The holiday apartment in the back of the lovingly and artistically quiet garden is spacious with 3+1 beds and is also well equipped. We made breakfast on the way since we were out of the house early.A kettle, coffee machine and microwave are part of the inventory, which is great for your first coffee in the morning on the terrace. Many thanks to Ms. Lorenz for further tips in the area.I would be happy to come back.

The guesthouse is in a quiet location near Saalburg. The yard/property is spacious and invites you to relax thanks to its loving design. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and the clean rooms left nothing to be desired. We had a lovely time here and would be happy to come back any time.

Was two weeks ago,on my hiking tour around Saalburg, staying overnight at the Pension zum Kanzler for four days. After my day tours I was greeted by the very friendly landlady. Upon request, Ms. Lorenz prepared me a very varied breakfast for the next few days. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. The price is good. I can recommend this guesthouse.

We had booked a room for two nights because we wanted to have a short vacation with our grandchild. The fairytale adventure park was our destination. We were welcomed by the lovely Sabine, the owner. The back house with two large rooms was great. Only the stairs to the living area were very difficult for me because I recently had an artificial hip. We had breakfast comfortably in the living room, fridge, kettle, coffee machine, everything was there. Just great. It's admirable that Sabine manages everything on her own in retirement. A little thing can sometimes be forgotten. We had a wonderful three days there, thank you very much. Always with pleasure. Greetings from Leipzig

Catastrophe ! No parking space, you have to look for it. No kitchen, no fridge, no stove, no oven, no kettle, no microwave, no coffee machine. I kept the food in a bag outside the window, it was frosty. The bathroom is old, ugly and smelly! AVOID THIS PLACE!

We, two older gentlemen, were on the road as cyclists and stayed overnight at the Pension Kanzler in Friesau. The landlady welcomed us very friendly. She showed us her beautifully maintained garden and took great care of us. It didn't matter that we were only their guests for 1 night, which can be problematic in Thuringia. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated, as was the entire guesthouse. Unfortunately, the restaurant is only used for celebrations, but the landlady offered to conjure up a snack for us if the local restaurant was already closed. The breakfast is freshly prepared, plentiful and balanced. It was a short but very pleasant stay. We would like to thank you for the warm hospitality and wish you all the best.
