Covered wagon ride - we had a really fun and informative covered wagon ride with Franz-Josef at the end of September. There were 21 people who didn't know us, but they all had a lot of fun!The wine tastes really great! You learned a lot about viticulture and the grape harvest and driving through the vineyards was simply fantastic. So always happy!!

We spent 5 nights there and it was really nice. Rooms great, rich breakfast, the evening wine tastings were great. The Genetsch family looks after their guests and has an open ear for everything. I can highly recommend the covered wagon ride. 🥳 How we laughed. We'd love to come back.

Covered wagon ride - highly recommended!Today we went on a wagon ride and absolutely loved it! The round was super fun and the driver told us a lot of information about the area. There was plenty of delicious wine and even something to eat. The drive took us to beautiful viewpoints from which we could enjoy breathtaking views of the landscape. All in all, an all-round successful trip that we can recommend to everyone!5 Stars!

We had a wonderful Pentecost weekend. We have rarely experienced so much hospitality and warmth!!!Unfortunately I can't rate the rooms because we were traveling in a motorhome. The wagon ride was carried out with so much attention to detail and it was always nice to chat with the two winemakers.Josef and Alwin are two very nice people and have done everything to make you feel comfortable!!!It's great that there are still people like you - these are exactly the kind of people we always meet on our tours, whether around the corner or 3,000 km away. That's the reason why we go on this type of vacation - you meet the people you're looking for! 😊

Super rude! We arrived and were told to wait a moment until our travel documents were checked. After about 30 minutes of waiting (with a small child) I rang the bell again and asked. We were simply forgotten in the hallway.

In October we wanted to go to the Genetsch guesthouse in Bernkastel-Kues for a week with our daughter. I booked the apartment by telephone and asked for a written booking confirmation to be sent to me, which I was to receive that same evening. 2 days later it still wasn't there, so I called the guest house again as a reminder. Again I was promised that it would be sent by email, which of course didn't happen. After another call, I was assured that the booking had been made and that we would definitely get the apartment. In addition, we were even offered the opportunity to move into the apartment in the morning on the day of arrival (Monday), as it is already available from Sunday. The bad surprise came on Saturday morning, a gentleman called us saying he was incredibly sorry but unfortunately we couldn't move into the apartment because it was already booked. The lady with whom we have spoken on the phone so far apparently did not notice this even on our third call!! (I generally felt overwhelmed during the calls!) When I asked what to do next, since we want to arrive in less than 48 hours, unfortunately they couldn't help me! So at that moment we were left without an apartment on our vacation. With luck we were able to book an apartment from another provider. Of course we were stuck with the additional costs!! We will NEVER try to reserve an apartment at the Genetsch guesthouse AGAIN! If it is not possible to send an order confirmation after three calls and it is not noticed that the house is already fully booked, perhaps you should think about having the staff answer the phone!

We can happily recommend the guest house, first of all. The room was pretty good and also quite quiet. But we looked in vain for local color here.Considering we were staying with a winemaking family, there was no sign of life with wine.As I said, the stay was very nice, but we had hoped for something different. You know, when we go to the wine farmer's wine tasting place and are handed a bottle of wine, I can't think of anything to say. 🥶For me, a wine tasting at the winery is a reflection of the winemaking family's products.Even though they may be quite extensive, we could only get to know them if we drank a whole bottle. We shopped elsewhere because they were more enterprising. A pity! The boss there is a lovely lady, but she's not a business premises or innkeeper. I think driving a tractor or working hard in the vineyard is more her thing. At the end it should be said that the breakfast was so-so. We grinned to ourselves at how accurately the sausages and slices of cheese and eggs were counted out. If you were late, history punished you here too.But otherwise everything is good, really.Next time we're going to Lake Constance😊😇😊
