Worst food we had in Germany! We went there early afternoon around 4pm after a wine tasting in town. The restaurant was empty. Nothing really appealed to us on the menu but we were all very hungry. I thought you can't go wrong with salad and grilled turkey breast. The service was extremely slow and not particularly friendly either. Food took forever to come out. The turkey had a spoiled taste to it. It was gamey and just didn't taste right. I left the pieces of meat on the side of my plate. My husband also tried it and said it did not taste right. He continued to have a few more pieces. I ate 2 small bites. We were both sick the next day. I do not recommend this place. The menu is limited, the service slow and unfriendly. And that meat should've never came out of the kitchen.

I ordered a turkey schnitzel with croquettes and was given a turkey steak with Spätzle....... When I pointed out that hadn't ordered the turkey steak, the waitress simply told me that she had misunderstood what I had said - absolutely no apology, no offer to bring me what I ordered, no offer to discount the price of the meal.....she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Because we had been walking for hours and I was starving, I ate the meal. I am not a fan of Spätzle to start with but the the ones served here were particularly bad. The meal was very expensive for what we received. Would not recommend this restaurant!

Very tasty food. Considering the location and the marvelous view the prices are perfectly reasonable. The restaurant looks old, a bit patchwork, but it's cozy and comfortable. A very good choice if you are visiting Hambach Castle anyways and do not wish to dine in the castle restaurant.

Pure disappointment...There were 5 of us and we wanted to drink a schnapps. Just have it in your hand quickly. We were turned away with the words: go somewhere else and I don't have time for you now.Even if there is a lot going on, you shouldn't have that kind of tone with your guests.

Good location - that's the only positive thing.A carelessly designed terrace, apart from a brown doily on the table.I had ordered pancakes with asparagus vegetables and already regretted it when the food came.On the plate there was a gray flour mush that had probably been warmed up several times, with tasteless pieces of asparagus floating in it. I didn't even know that there were chefs who still made something like that. It's a shame about the good product.

Unfortunately, I had to experience that despite being open from 5 p.m. today, it was unfortunately closed. I find this sort of thing totally misleading. I specifically didn't eat at the castle because I expected it to be open here. That's what it says on the sign. Sorry, that's not good. I was there at 4:30 p.m. and everything was empty. I came again at 5:10 p.m. Everything is still empty. Another additional sentence for the owner. Unfortunately it wasn't open until 5 p.m. I was there.

In any case, the portions won't fill you up. A single (!) pancake with mushrooms, WITHOUT salad and WITHOUT bacon for €16.And these are entry-level prices.
