My partner and I had a wonderful stay and I plan on going back. The place is very quaint and very well kept. The couple that runs the place was extremely friendly and helpful. They received us with a warm welcome and made sure we had all we needed. The place is really pretty - it’s been there for a long time and you can see that in the nicest way. Lots of great woodworking and details all around. It’s very clean and well kept. A real hidden gem.The area is surrounded by beautiful nature and amazing roads for motorcyclists. I’m hoping to go back and stay longer so we can hike and ride around the gorgeous area knowing we have an excellent place to rest and relax afterwards.

I paid 36€ including breakfast in September 2024. I was expecting horrors, but it was perfect for me. Very clean, very comfortable bed and the wifi worked. I also enjoyed the walk to the local waterfall with a beer and schnapps honesty box nearby.

This place was just lovely. Hotel is located near big waterfall and many hiking paths. Good location for people who want to explore north and south parts of Balck Forest. It is an old style hotel which is not that common these days. Room was very clean with big balcony and view on the mountain. Wifi worked well! Hosts are warm people who made our stay even more pleasant. This is a prefect place for people who like nature, peaceful stay and nice hosts! Breakfast was very good and it included everything that is generally served: bread, freshly made eggs, cheese, ham, sweets, drinks etc and even more! Every morning there was a different type of homemade sweets, very tasty and original! We stayed there for 3 full days and we loved the place. Recommended for couples and families who like nature, calm environment and hiking.

The place is old, but clean and tidy and calm. We had a pleasant stay. The staff speak no English. We had a huge room with a bath tub inside the main room. The kitchen had only a microwave and a water boiler. (The next room had a better equipped kitchen, with cups and pans and more).The breakfast was very good. Opposite the hotel is the road to the beautiful Burgbach waterfall. Don't forget to check the stars when it gets dark at night.

This hotel has got more of a tavern feel than of a hotel. Some of the reviews said that the hotel has seen better days but may be that's a good thing.As a traveler I loved the place. It's got friendly staff, nice rooms and great view. It's really good for the adventursy and family where the main fun is outside the hotel or for the people who want to unwind. Not for people who look for the luxury and aminites within the hotel.The breakfast is also available and it's quite nice

This place is a hidden gem. The owner speaks several languages (German, English, Russian), and the people working there (probably they are family) are super nice, so everyone will feel welcomed from the start.The rooms are spacious with a lot of storage place. Despite the retro aesthetics everything is new and squeaky clean. I enclose some pictures that are not perfect as they were taken at check out, but I vouch the standard is very nice. Only had one breakfast and one meal during our stay but the food was home cooked and tasted great. The portions are also big so worth spending the money for supper.The place is located not that far away from the closest village so you can still do your groceries while staying somewhere that is not packed with tourists. The scenery around is simply breath-taking. You have several mountain trails starting just across the road so it is a perfect base for wandering around the area.The value for money is incredible. Will definitely pay the place a visit in the summer!

Really lovely place to stay, they tried their best to accommodate us (we speak no German) and we were able to talk to one of the guys running the place. Huge rooms with a really lovely bathroom (with a bath! You don't often see ones with baths). The breakfast was an amazing feast with lovely cut sausage, ham and fresh eggs. Really lovely place, if I had longer in the area I would have stayed just for the accommodation.

The facilities in rooms were rather dated. The kitchen had very few dishes, no oven, leaking fridge. There were no window blinds and it was hard to sleep. The brekfast was very basic.

We stayed at this place for 2 nights. The place is located in a beautiful mountain valley in Black Forest. There is a waterfall near by and a bear and wolf sanctuary. …
