I thought about writing this review for a long time.Unfortunately, the accommodation has to be measured against our previous stays, where we were all very satisfied and which we enjoyed without exception after the many day tours through the Hainich. It is no longer the old valley station, which is still evidenced by the chair lift at the entrance, skies, a carved wooden backpack and the now non-functional hooks of the once magnificent Alpine hanging baskets. After being there regularly with friends for a few years and being very satisfied, I am very disappointed after the change of operator. If wellness is advertised, then you should be able to assume that this is included. Instead, you have to pre-register for the sauna, heat boxes, pool, etc. and it is not possible in the evening when you return from tours. The sauna barrel is basically a good idea, but "for hygiene reasons" only with bathing suits? What's that supposed to mean: Nope! The plastic pool looks as if a UFO had landed in the formerly natural idyll. The stream is interrupted and shut down (see photo) and is now just an empty stone bed. We were really looking forward to the cozy common room. This is now only accessible exclusively for whiskey tastings, making it useless for vacation days with friends. There is no longer any space to meet in the evenings like before, because the rooms are much too small for that. Groups no longer seem to be wanted. We had intentionally booked a room with a desk, which wasn't there. An oversized television blocked the space on a mini table (see photo) and there were no normal chairs for a desk. With the previous operator, everything was completely furnished and coordinated in Alpine style. Now you can expect an Austrian-Scottish mishmash including room names without explanation. Here personal passion has triumphed over hospitality. Everything is littered with countless annoying decorative cushions that have to be put away (even with a warning, see photo). The very steep, smooth stairs without a slip stop and warning sign (see photo) to the upper floor are extremely slippery and we slipped on them. I won't post the chewed spots here, it was very painful and ruined the day of hiking. The familiar (unfortunately creaking) rustic, cozy bed no longer awaits you upstairs. Instead, there is a completely oversized lying area, which is too big for the small room with the sloping walls (see photo), so that the sockets and room light switches from before are no longer accessible or are hidden. The kettle doesn't fit under the tap (see photo) and the coffee cream was sour, a well-balanced arrangement. The bathroom door doesn't close (see photo). The bike rack is unsuitable for mountain bikes, is not covered and is left over from the previous owner where it stood in the protected entrance gate.In short: A lot has certainly been invested in innovations, but without any new overall concept. It would also be good for the operator to test the whole thing from the perspective of (regular) guests. I am extremely disappointed, my circle of friends and I will definitely not be coming back and I hope we have fun with guests from a different clientele.
