Holiday Inn Express Bochum, an IHG Hotel

Just swell. Perfect location downtown. We were able to walk to the Starlight Express theater. It took 30 minutes.The hotel seems new. Friendly and capable staff and a breakfast buffet not seen at a Holiday Inn Express. So much food, good quality and well presented and also included.Thank you We will return for another show in Bochum.

Brand new hotel but built to the exact spec of the HIXbrand. Small rooms, no storage, same as every other HIX in Europe. Nothing to review really. Location excellent though which is the whole point of this hotel. Bar area quiet and frankly pointless when you're so close to the Bermuda Triangle.Breakfast pretty good and front desk guy with his dog was a nice touch 👌

The hotel is in the centre of Bochum, exit the hotel and you are in the centre. Parking is underneath the hotel in a public garage for an acceptable daily rate.  …

I have not had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, but they seem to be desperate about collecting money that they have not worked for. They are a company and I have been made to believe that although my reservation could not be cancelled, it could be amended by the hotel but they are being very difficult. Here is my message to them after numerous phone calls to them about an unforeseen travel issue."Hi there,I made a booking to this hotel in good faith to visit Germany for fun with family members.Sadly, I did not make my flight with my children. This means I am not able to check in today or tomorrow. The next flight available is Tuesday 16th.I would have taken it and moved my reservation dates, but I am due to give birth and would like to do this at home in UK. I am worried I might be took close to my labour if I chose to stay in Germany longer than the 17th of July.I have called the office since morning, but I have had no resolution since my mobile phone keeps cutting off before I could get a resolution.Could you please cancel the reservation and please return the reservation cost in form of a voucher for Holiday Inn with Bochum in a future booking as I know that we will return Or you may return our reservation cost in the form of Holiday Inn membership loyalty points or if you are happy for us to change the location of our booking would be much appreciated.I look forward to hearing from you very soon.Kind Regards,Ms Tutu Obasa."And look at their reply: quite inhuman!"Thank you for choosing Holiday Inn Express Bochum for your upcoming trip. It's about the money. Empathy means nothing to them. I have not asked for refund or cancellations because that would mean they make a loss of my spending. As a member, I do not want that for them I just wanted to change the date or change the location to another holiday Inn because of the situation I found myself. The money was still going to stay with the company however and not return to my account.All just seems desperate. €403 is meant to go down the drain, just because I have no control of nature. I mean, who does? The worst part is, I am simply asking to still use the money with the company, so they are not going to lose the money. Just going to be moved to be used on another date. Let's not forget I am a member, which means I am set on keeping their business alive and running. I always like using them for getaways with the children. At most of their branches in UK, they have pool facilities, children play area and they allow pets. This is why I am a member. It seems Bochum is about to ruin my experience with Holiday Inn completely! I am very disappointed!!!!

Great rooms and comfortable too. Very good choice at breakfast. Parking was easy with direct access to the hotel and compared with other hotels in Bochum the Holiday Inn Express is good value and very new. The staff whilst new were all very helpful and friendly.

I recently stayed at your hotel and unfortunately had a highly disappointing experience. During breakfast, I politely inquired about the availability of croissants, to which the employee responded with unnecessary sarcasm, stating that he only had "two hands," which was completely unprofessional.To add to my frustration, when I asked him again about lactose-free milk, I was simply told "no" without any further assistance or attempt to accommodate my dietary needs.Then come another employee to me and asked if i still need something i told him no thanks.Again come the first employee to me andWhat truly shocked me was the disrespectful behavior exhibited by the first employee Instead of offering an apology or attempting to rectify the situation, he proceeded to yell at me in front of other guests, accusing me that i didn't belived him and he told me 'am i liar , am i a liar ? ' and disrespecting me publicly.Such unprofessionalism and lack of respect for guests are simply unacceptable. I urge management to take immediate action to address the behavior of their staff and ensure that all guests are treated with the courtesy and respect they deserve.Overall, my experience at your hotel was marred by this incident, and I would not recommend it to others until significant improvements are made in both service quality and staff professionalism.

Nice new hotel. Staff (and the dog) was great. Heating in the new building seems to be a problem. Breakfast was great, room also.

Very bad experience with staff and room service i expected that newly opened hotel will be professional and welcoming the staff was very unprofessional they asked me to leave the restaurant at 10 sharp on the breakfast noting that i have a baby and i just take time to eat they can close the buffet and leave me on the eating area but they refused and told me will give you bags to take the food and go out moreover the hot water was not working at night and they leave us on this situation for more than 3 hours, i asked for baby bed in the room but they didn’t bring it, it was very bad experience for me as a platinum member and will not be repeated again, VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!
