I booked with Shearings as solo passenger and had a single room. Hotel was clean and bed comfortable. I had thick duvet but took it off bed and slept with duvet cover only.  …

Stayed three nights in September 2024 with 2 friends as part of a coach tour. This hotel is very good value for money. Good wholesome food - no frills but of good quality all round. …

We stayed for 7 nights as part of 36 Great Rail Journeys holidaymakers. It’s all inclusive including alcoholic drinks and packed lunches.|The staff were brilliant particularly Ja’nos, who was engaging with very good sense of humour. …

Lovely hotel apart from the owner margarita very rude would not return. Went with shearings coaches had a fantastic time and the 2 drivers we had made it better,Chris and Brian. Chris is an amazing guy, funny, friendly and very helpful, genuine nice guy. Definitely would book with them again but not to that hotel.

Very basic hotel wouldn't class it as 3* more like 2*. The only good thing about it was that it was clean. The beds were small and uncomfortable with massive pillows. …

Very basic hotel, small rooms, can't open the windows very wide, no fans in room which was terrible as there was a heatwave and it was extremely uncomfortable. Food was boring and bland, not much choice. …

Single Room was so small though I paid for room supplement, Weather temp was 35 C and there was no AC during the 3 days stay. They provided a portable small fan that cannot be adjusted , so I opened the window to get fresh air. In the morning , I had insect bites . However, good service from Andrew, Georgette and Andrea who worked hard doing their job for the visitors. I wish Margaruette is happier.

Stayed here whilst on a coach holiday with Shearings Holidays. The hotel itself is in a very pretty, quiet location with a few shops to mooch at, and a nice little park and canal / waterway. Storks nest on top of some of the buildings which is quirky. And there's a railway station not too far away. The hotel lobby is bright and modern with small seating area and tv. There is also a bar but this was not open for the duration of our stay, and a seating area at the back with tables, chairs and umbrellas (smokers can use this space also). The dining room is large and clean and the servery for breakfast was always clean and mostly well stocked. They also have two hot drinks machines making tea / coffees and got chocolates. There is also a small bar area on the dining room and patio doors that open out to the outside seating area.We stayed in a second floor room (the lift was out of order for the duration of our stay) and the room was clean with twin beds, tv, basic tea/coffee making facilities, strange lamps attached to the headboard that moved slightly but be careful not to bump your head! And the bathroom was clean with a shower and clean towels. Our view was the back yard and the travel agents opposite! The pillows in our room were large square shaped squashy things - more like a floor cushion than a pillow - no support and a little suffocating.Beds were firm... not completely uncomfortable to sleep on, but basic.Unfortunately for us, we stayed here during a particularly hot spell in August - the hotel is clearly not set up for this and there is no air conditioning, not even a fan - this meant the rooms were stifling and so uncomfortable to try and sleep in! The chocolate that had been left on my pillow when we arrived had melted it was that warm! We tried cool showers before getting ready for the day but by the time we were dressed we needed another cool shower as the room was just unbearably warm! Our holiday package was all inclusive at this hotel - breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. And drinks from the bar (dining room) between 6:30 - 10:30 pm.We were ORDERED by staff, to sit in the same seat for meals for the duration of our stay - it didn't appear that other guests were using the hotel and half of the tables were not being used but we had strict instructions not to sit anywhere else. At breakfast you need to pre-order your evening meal. And when you have finished your evening meal the staff ask if you want a packed lunch the next day - if you do not order the night before you cannot have a packed lunch the next day!Breakfast was adequate. It is self service. Hot food, toast, cereals tinned fruit or yoghurt. Hot drinks and juice or water. Breakfast is served for one hour.Packed lunch was the same each day and essentially resembled a school child's packed lunch!Thrown into a plastic bag that we had to carry around all day - meaning sarnies were squashed, fruit was bruised, choc had melted and juice was warm. We declined after the second day!Evening meal was 3 courses with an additional salad bar available.Starter was either soup with a slice of dry bread or melon and ham, salty but okay.Mains were small portions - a bit salty and nothing exciting or even particularly "Bavarian" which was disappointing.Dessert was one option take or leave it!All inclusive drinks were cheap beer, cheap wine and soft drinks - anything else had to be paid for.Hotel is family run and the warden in charge is a miserable, grumpy, inhospitable old lady. She was rude to most of our tour party - despite everyone being well behaved and polite she muttered in German and scowled at most of us the whole time. She demands guests go to their rooms at 10:30pm and keeps a tally of the all inclusive drinks served?! She clearly has a distaste for coach groups or maybe English people or maybe she just hates her life? Either way she is an utter disgrace to hospitality and needs to be retired or at the very least kept away from customers. Awful woman.I wouldn't stay here again - more like bootcamp than a hotel!
