We walked into the restaurant after they stopped serving food. No staff was noticeable. One table was having a good time and a man at the bar. We sat down at a table for 3 or 4 minutes being totally ignored. Finally, an old man at the bar shouts one word into the air without turning around. The old woman running the place was sitting at the fun table like a customer. She was cold & unwelcoming. It was the oddest “Twilight Zone” TV show feel. Probably a place only for locals.

We stumbled on this place and loved it. A sweet older lady runs the place. She doesn’t speak any English so you know the food is going to be great and authentic.

Not okay in terms of cuisine, but worth 5 stars to eat here.Older couple whose wife does everything. She prepared our meal in her own home, above the business.I swear my schnitzel was bought at Aldi and so was my husband's piece of meat.It was quite tasty, and the price-quality ratio was just good. (this meal was very affordable)I hope for this lady that she can continue to do what she likes for a long time, because her husband's health is not good.

Original restaurant where locals eat and meet for events. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Also open in winter. Operator very friendly. Very tasty, freshly made asparagus dishes! A real tip just a few meters away from the tourist crowds.

A beautiful old mansion, with a sauna and hot tub, everything you need to help you in the kitchen, rooms a bit dated but good mattresses, the location is perfect for Cochem, ideal as a base!

The best place to eat really good and traditional food. This is another piece of the Moselle that you rarely find. The 75-year-old landlady still cooks personally. And you can taste it. Nice and rustic and not overrun with tourists. Only recommended.

Quaint restaurant in the center of Cochem. Slightly hidden in an alley. The food is fresh and mostly freshly cooked. The price-performance ratio is absolutely recommended for Cochem. No tourists are being ripped off with Convince Food here.Anyone who enters the restaurant is suddenly transported back in time. The couple who run it (both around 70) are very friendly and you feel welcome. For us, the “Gaststätte Am Balduinstor” is the insider tip, whether for a glass of our own Mosel wine (€2.50) or a cold beer (€1.70). The dishes include Jagerschnitzel with fries and salad (€9.50) or brawn with fried potatoes and side salad (€6.20)The goulash soup and the meatloaf are also recommended.

Great, rustic restaurant for little money that serves top dishes. The landlady (75 years old) still cooks according to old recipes. The inn is not in the first row, so many people walk past.
