We didnot really know what to expect going for dinner at this restaurant but we were very pleasantly surprised about the quality of food and service. Super nice hospitable waitress. The fish we ordered was cooked to perfection. Served with some really nice vegetables (which is rare in restaurants) a perfect sauce and delicious fries. The menu card looked a little simple but the daily menu was very tasty and more special. When around next time, we’ll come back. Service was not really fast but when out for dinner that is something we actually enjoy.

We went for a coffee and were happy to find out our dog was allowed inside otherwise we would have stayed at the terrace but it was a chilly day so we prefered indoors. ||Nicely decorated, old and new combined. Really good! …

During our stay at Center Parcs "Het Heijderbos" we remembered that we'd been to a lovely place near the river Maas, looking at the water enjoying the sun. So we looked around and found it again, "Het Veerhuis Oeffelt" near Gennep. If you are lucky you get a table on the large outdoor terrace, offering an unhindered view down the river Maas and watching the ships pass by. And if you are already sitting there, why not having a little snack or even a light lunch. At least my wife and I can recommend everything we had from the menu.So if you are looking for a day out and need a little stop off from the main roads, you should try "Het Veerhuis Oeffelt" and their hostile team.

Went for 'brunch buffet' on 26 Dec, which was more like a light breakfast offering with two choices of soup. …

This is such a sweet spot on the river banks of the Maas river. Hotel 't Veerhuis has that je-ne-sais-quoi atmosphere of times gone by in the most charming sense. The lunches and the dinners are relaxed and very nice. …
