Perfect breakfast! Excellent location! Great service at the restaurant! We have questions to the reception though… they mentioned free bike rental in the info for guests left in the room, but at the reception no one knows anything about the bicycle service…

Very unfriendly personnel, fighted with customers. Room smelled like mold and was old fashioned. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. The hotel takes illeagal extra charges when paying with Visa. The place is bit remote from the river Mosel.

We stayed 4 days. Nothing to complain about the service and the room. Was perfect. But a big 0 for the restaurant and what they charge for very bad food. We therefore used it only once and decided to drive out for our meals.

Very cute hotel and would recommend for a short visit. The receptionist called us because it was 8:30 and she was leaving and wasn’t going to wait to give us our keys, luckily we were right up the road. Our beds were hard, the pillows were like a large decorative couch cushion pillow (but soft and fluffy), the room smelled of mildew and there was large chunks of dust under our beds. Also the “card machine wasn’t working” and we had to pay cash. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was adorable.

We stayed here one night to tour the castle. It's a lovely 2.5 km hike to the top. We were picked up at the train station and allowed to check in early. Great rooms and delicious food. An American and German speaking (American) best friend. Alpacas across the road, plenty of places to relax with a beer or cappuccino. Wonderful traditional breakfast and such a friendly staff and dog friendly atmosphere. We met "Nala" and many happy tourists.I highly recommend staying here if you want to HIKE to Berg Eltz.

Really friendly service and great food. We had cakes for the walk up to the castle and enjoyed it so much that we thought we would try there for dinner. Highly recommend the asparagus soup and schnitzel

We were offered complimentary coffee and cake on arrival while the owners fetched our room keys. The hotel is popular with walking groups and individuals, just a short walk up to Burg Eltz. …

Very nice place to stay! Got an amazing good deal on their website that included lodging, breakfast and dinner included, food was good and plentiful , staff friendly and parking available right outside, calm area in the end of a small valley, vere a trail up to burg Eltz starts , also lots of other hiking can be reached easy. One thing worth mentioning that is no fault of the property, but it is in a black spot regarding mobile network coverage , they do have a good wifi thou

We visited this hotel in October of 2019. This is a wonderful hotel in a great location. There is a nice hike to Burg Eltz, starting being the hotel. The food was some of the best we had on our trip. The restaurant was filled with locals for dinner. The hotel hosts were incredibly polite and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, off the beaten path hotel. Rooms were a bit dated, but nothing that bothered us. We would stay here again!

Stayed here for 1 night in the summer as a base to explore Burg Eltz and as a midway point of our travel along the Rhine and Moselle. Our room in the Blockhaus (cabin right next to the hotel) was great: rustic looking on the outside, but very modern and comfy inside, and with a nice view of the woods. It was a great place to relax at night after several hikes, and to enjoy the cooler morning weather relaxing outside with a good book.Location is great: you're right on the path to the castle, and it's only about a 35-45-minute hike (through woods and streams) to get there. Only warning is that the depictions of cell network are accurate- there's not much reception here, and the WiFi is decent (not great).Food was also great: hearty traditional German food with a cold Bitburger was exactly what we needed after hiking, and the breakfast included with the hotel stay was an outstanding variety of fruit/bread/Müsli/eggs/pastries. Admittedly, the service at dinner wasn't super fast compared to restaurants we frequent in the US, but I would say it was as fast/faster than other places we ate in Germany and service was very friendly. If you're looking for a nice place to eat/stay as you explore the Moselle Valley, this is a great option!🏰🏞️🇩🇪
