The inn made an appealing impression, and the fireplace inside made it quite pleasant. We were only there for dinner on the 2nd of Advent and regret it!A service person in a saggy look served us in an annoyed manner. Appropriately for a restaurant, a rock station was playing loudly, which the service person seemed to really like, as she was always singing along to the songs being played, if you can even call that singing. The food was below all dignity. Pre-fried minute steaks were given ragout fin from a can with cheese on top. The whole thing warmed up in the microwave, very tasty. Side dishes dried up, teeth lifted.Schnitzel, fried fish, potato wedges, everything from the deep fryer, frozen of course. Upon request, as everything was very dry, we were even served ketchup and mayonnaise in sachets. It doesn't get any better. Irony off!One star for the wine because it was delicious. We have never experienced anything worse than in this restaurant.

We stayed one night and unfortunately experienced quite unfriendly service. Our booking was “lost” despite the booking confirmation. The restaurant wasn't open, even though we had been told that it was by email beforehand. Rooms were fine, one shutter was broken. Breakfast was ok. Card payment was not possible. It's a shame, I'm used to more professionalism from the Thuringian Forest.

The innkeepers and waitresses were very helpful with advice and selection of hiking routes and alternatives. The food tasted very good, you can tell that it was prepared "hand-made" with regional experience. We'll definitely come back.

Called the inn on Thursday at 4 p.m. to make a reservation for 6:30 p.m. for 13 people. A small misunderstanding upon arrival as 3 people were understood. However, we were greeted without any problems and given a warm welcome.Drinks were at the table within 5 minutes of ordering. After ordering the food, it took 25 minutes until everyone at the table had their food almost at the same time (8 different dishes). All dishes were very tasty and freshly prepared. We recommend. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit the region.

On the day of arrival you don't see anyone from the hotel staff, which takes some getting used to but for better or worse it will be the case more and more often. Only stayed one night. The room and large bathroom were really good and everything was very clean. Otherwise, as I said, we can't say much. Staff on the day of departure was very nice and friendly.

55/65, Dec. 23,Room large, unfortunately ice cold. Beds ok, wet room ok, restaurant ok, breakfast ok, you have to like the ambience!Snow, neither stairs nor access safely cleared, problematic for older guests.

Arrived at the hotel after a long hike, unfortunately a rest day. It was immediately clarified over the phone and there were even tips for dinner in other restaurants + a cold beer. The room was good and sufficient. Breakfast was ok. Unfortunately no rolls but only bread and unfortunately coffee cream with a long expired best before date.

Stopped here for one night as we were walking along the Rennsteig. The food in the evening was very tasty and the eye was not disappointed either. The rooms are also very clean and nicely decorated. The service was very nice and accommodating. Can only recommend the inn.
