This time we went to the country house “Zur Endstation” near Duderstadt for our cousin meeting. At first I was amused by the not so life-affirming name. But it is only due to the location directly on the former German-German border. The house is located near a golf course in the countryside and the three rooms we had were friendly, functional and sparkling clean. I don't expect anything more from a country house. The highlights for me were the extremely friendly owner, whose youth was a while back, but who always looked after us charmingly and politely, and the food. We ate in the associated inn on two evenings. I ate a set menu both evenings. Each consisting of a very tasty starter soup, a decent side salad, a small dessert and the main course. One evening it was venison goulash with croquettes and homemade red cabbage, the other evening pork fillet medallions with chanterelle cream sauce and a rösti. Price for the menu is 19.50 and 20.50. Absolutely solid and tasty and goodness, I wouldn't want to cook this myself for that money. The breakfast was also great. Delicious sausage from the butcher around the corner is particularly worth mentioning. Some hotel chains can learn a lesson from this.

The service is friendly. Unfortunately, I wasn't entirely impressed by the food. But it's definitely a matter of taste. At the social meal, the dishes and side dishes came to the table individually and sometimes only lukewarm with clear, timely intervals. This is a shame and therefore one star less. The toilet facilities didn't convince me in terms of cleanliness and were getting old. Otherwise everything was positive and I will definitely stop by again.

Very cozy inn. The restaurant was furnished with a lot of love, lots of wood but very bright and friendly thanks to the large windows. The staff is super nice. The rooms are clean and our double room was really large with a nice balcony. Some of it was a bit old-fashioned, but cozy .Breakfast was completely fine. Rolls, bread, sausage, cheese, jam, egg, coffee, tea and 1 glass of juice, although you would definitely have had some left over. We would definitely stay there again.
